Default Feeling drained and bored on my days off.

I really can't explain this problem but I will try. This week I had three days off from work. My first day went good got lots done felt great. The second day did some work and felt ok. By the third day felt awful. I felt bored tired and emotionally drained. Now I have to return to work today and I feel motivated and great. I feel some regret that I did not try to enjoy my day yesterday.

This usually happens when I take many days off from work. Most of my regular two days off the same things happen but my second day off I feel awful. And Like usual when it is time to return to work i feel motivated and wish I did more on my days off. I guess my emotions are like clock work day one off feel great get lots done day two feel terrible and lazy. And the more days off I get the worst it gets.

I am not too worried about not getting much done on my days off but the emotional drain and boredom is what I hate and want to get rid of. Here are some ideas I think might be the problem.

I am stuck at home watching my daughter with no car. 10 hours just in my house like a hermit.

I think my first day off I am motivated and get lots done but the second day I just don't want to do anymore work, maybe I crave for some fun and excitement.

I am guessing I need change on my free time, but any ideas? I take my daughter for a walk many times to just get outside but I think that is even feeling typical and boring at times. I should get a baby sitter so I can maybe go venture on my own but money wise I have to spend my days off watching my daughter. I don't mean to make it sound like my daughter in a pain she is great. I think I just need to learn to find activities for her and I.

Yesterday during my time in boredom I did feel the need for friends also. I have friends but I really don't do too much with them.

I would also like to try to get my motivation up the second day off from work to get a little more done. I am not looking for my whole two days off to be constant work but I wish I could get over that hump and get a little more productive.

Soon I will get four days off and I am wondering if I will go through this emotional drain again. But, I will be going out of town for two of those four days so maybe it won't be as bad. Gosh, for as much as I hate my job I sure feel terrible on my days away from it.

If you are still reading this I hope it makes sense. Any ideas would be great. Thanks for your time.

Sometimes during holidays and days off all I can think about is work and going back to school. It feels like I'm a workholic because I feel good when I'm working but don't care much more recreation and socialising.

Sometimes I take my kids to the park. My daughter really loves to play basketball. Sometimes my son plays, but all the other kids play on the playground. We also live pretty close to downtown. Sometimes I take the kids to the really tall buildings and we ride the elevators. Sometimes people look at us funny, but the kids have a blast. Sometimes we just play soccer in the back yard. You can also involve your daughter in projects you do around the house. She might enjoy it.

Well, it sounds like you have figured out your pattern, that day1 off is best for getting things done and day 2 off is best for ... something else. Maybe you could invite over a friend for your daughter to play with and even set up a little craft activity for them if you feel motivated. If you start to volunteer to have kids come over to your house on your low motivation day, there is a good chance that someone will want to reciprocate and watch your daughter for a while so you can have some fun too.
