| Ive recently started doing breathing meditation again but i'm considering doing holosync instead. I'm serious about the practice and from what it seems i'll be able to make much more effective and faster progress with holosync.... Must say I have been put off my some people's experiences with emotional upheaval and incresed anxiety working through the programme especially because I have suffered from anxiety in the past but from what I can tell, its worth it. What do people think? Are there any advantages of sticking to traditional meditation? What are people's experiences with the holosync technology, especially with regards to upheaval... I was considering ordering awakening prologue last night but I want more research / opinions before I go ahead, condidering the time, money and emotional commitment involved.... Thanks |

| Hey Deej, I don't think it really matters which one you use. Meditation isn't about the technology or tools, its about the experience. And whatever yeilds the most enjoyable and effective experience for you is what you should stick with. If that happens to be Holosync, stick with that. I've found myself experimenting without meditation music and just doing breathing in a quiet room and that works great. But sometimes I want to listen to music, so I use Brainsync. To me it doesn't really matter what I use, only the experience that I'm having. Hope that helps.

| Here's my experience with Holosync...i ordered the free demo cd to try it out. The first time i listened to it was AMAZING,i felt a wave come over me,and i couldn't feel my body,i felt like i was immersed in the alpha state, big time! But then it never happened again, any other time, only that first time, and i tried listening to them at least 5 or 6 more times. So i never ordered the entire cd collection. I found another cheaper version of it,through another company, and their cd's,too, only "worked" the first time. Maybe its the placebo effect, maybe it's that you have to progress in order to keep feeling results. But i was hoping the free/cheap ones would have kept me going for more than one time, but,oh well. I've kinda quit meditating now. |

| I like it. I originally ordered the awaking prologue and i did have a fantastic meditation. I did it every day for a few months, after a while the effect did lesson tho did not stop. I then ordered the entire series.. and still enjoy it. I am only around 6 months into it, i can say, i love that feeling of floating etc. So far, no regrets, no issues, nothing bad to say. I found deeper levels are definitely way better.. I also found, i like to lay down during it, not sit up like they recommend. I also bought really big nice comfy sony headphones they are the ones holosync recommends but i got them on amazon for way cheaper. Hope that helps Adrienne |

Rockchick, I think your getting the whole purpose of Holosync a little twisted, its more about the journey and what happens in the long term rather than a singular experience while meditating. Even if you do not go 'Deep' its still creating long term change (apparently) Would be interested to hear anyone else's expericences.. |

As to changes, yes. Now, i really cant say if these would have happened on their own, or not, but i find that having an hour every day where i get into an altered state of mind and relax etc very very helpful. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming, and trying to find an hour everyday can be hard, but it is worth it IMO. Also, i find myself just being a little more easy going. I was never not easy going, but stuff that might of bothered me just does not. For me the most important part just letting go for an hour and allowing my mind to let go. It feels great. This was something i was never very good at. here is the one frustrating thing.. I dont have a CD player, so i ripped them to my mp3 player. Well you have to use a lossless format which you cant use mp3 for. Basically there are 1 that my mp3 (I have an Archos) player can read for lossless format (windows). However, vista encodes the lossless different then windows has in the past, so my MP3 player has all sorts of issues with it, sometimes the files done show up, the names get changes, or are just plain wrong, you cant add them to a play list, or sort them or even see them under artist or anything. For this, i am thinking of getting an ipod because i can encode them into the lossless ipod format and i know it will work. It is an expensive investment between buying all the cds (i just bought the whole program which was around 2 grand i think) 2 new headphones (one for the floating cds and one for the actual cds which was another 100 bucks, and now i am looking at a 300 dollar ipod.. i am hoping after that, i will be done spending money on this program. |
