Question Emotional Mastery

Hi all, I am interested in emotional mastery. I haven't done a lot of reading on the subject but it is some I experience daily in my life. I have been told this is the year of my personal mastery over the physical world and even though I believe this I still feel lost in areas of my life.

I am student and I'm studying psychology and on the sidelines I study philosophy and religion. I am having a bit of a existential crisis, I feel as though i have mastered much but learned very little about who I really am. I have had a lot of mystical experiences and from that learned how to ground myself more. But I lack information, I don't always know where to go for info on personal development. That is why I joined this forum...I have had a massive amount of experiences for the age I am at (28). And its just become the compost heap of my life, sort of all this undigested material. So any advice or links to what I could possibly look at would be great! And I plan to share a lot on this forum about what I have experienced and see if others can relate!

If you lack information, I would say good books are your best bet.

On the topic of emotional mastery, here are my recommendations:

The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle
A New Earth - Eckhart Tolle
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff - Richard Carlson
The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz
Wherever You Go, There You Are - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Those books will help you establish your direction.

Sounds like you're wanting to develop the 2nd and 3rd chakras. In addition to the books already mentioned, I'd recommend:

"Personal Power Through Awareness" - Sanaya Roman (any book by her)
"Dark Side of the Light Chasers" - Debbie Ford
"Recovery of Your Inner Child" - Lucia Capacchione
"Seat of the Soul" - Gary Zukav
"Love is Letting Go of Fear" - Gerald Jampolsky (any book by him)

Hey Thanks, that really helps. I have been interested in developing my chakras as well. What are the 2nd and 3rd chakras in relation to the body?

I have read the Power of Now and that seemed to help me center myself, but I am def going to look for the books you recommended! Thanks again

In general, 2nd chakra is around the navel area. It governs all the organs in that area and things like emotions, sexuality, and ability to experience pleasure (of all kinds not just sexual.)

The 3rd chakra is the solar plexus and the organs in that area. It governs personal power vs control, and will/mind.

So 2nd chakra is dealing with the emotions and 3rd chakra is dealing with mastery of oneself. 2nd chakra is considered feminine, 3rd chakra is masculine. Regardless of our physical gender, most people have one of the two stronger than the other. They need to be balanced and in harmony, working together instead of opposing one another.
