Default I've lost all desire

I'm in college and I've basically lost all the desire to study and do well. No subjects interest me anymore, not even history which I used to like. All I want to do is just live in the non-linear world of enlightenment that David Hawkins describes in Power vs. Force. I just want to BE not DO, but I have to make a living somehow right? Any suggestions on what I could do to keep on studying and pushing myself to get through life?

You need to figure out if you want the education.
If you want the education itself it is a goal that ends in a few years? How do you feel about that? It means you'll have to find a new path afterwards.

Is the education a step on the way towards something greater?
You should think about if the education really is the best way for you to move towards your goals. Maybe there is a faster route to your dreams.

Maybe you feel that you're wasting time. Then you need to figure out better ways to spend your time and DO IT!

Just being is really boring and agonising. There's a brain in your skull that demands experiences. You can only just be for so long before you get restless. You need to figure out what to do the rest of the time.

The more interesting your life is, the more time you can spend just being. If your life is really interesting, being and doing becomes the same thing, I think.

Hi Jeff

You need something or someone to light a fire under you. I cant do anything for the latter, but for the former I could suggest reading........

"What does it all mean?" by Thomas Nagel

It is a relatively short book, about 100 pages. I read it in a day. If this doesnt get you interested in something, then my friend, you just might just be clinically deceased!

ISBN 0195052161

Trezker hit it right. The more time you spend doing what you love being is what you are doing. I do what I love for a living and most of the time it is fully satisfying and not at all boring. If what you are doing is not working try anything anything else. If you try new things you will find your passion in life. Think positive! G

I want to point out the inconsistency of the two statement, which if I'm not mistaken you are already aware of. You say you want to BE not DO, and immediately afterwards ask what you can do to be. I realize that it's just semantics, and that you're probably just going to become frustrated that you can't say what you mean using the existing language structures, but I felt I should point it out in case that is not the case. Now for the real meat of my post.

Why do you feel you need to push yourself to get through life?
