Default Learning to be empowered words...

I have had a few difficult years and watched things come to a head for both my husband and myself. Not with each other but life in general. Hope seemed to no longer exist. I never paid much attention to my own personal development but I knew I needed practical tools but had no idea how to get them. Plus, I have a habit of over analyzing and over complicating things. I recognize now that I am HIGHLY affected by the words said to me and the words that I have said to myself. Allowing others to break down this formally confident woman. I lost my sense of self, my walls that I built around me became thicker and higher.

I heard Niurka speak at the Next Level 4 Success Center which I have now become very involved with. One of the big things I took away immediately is the power of words. How they build me up and break me down. For example: Stressed. I am so stressed. I have so much to do, I am spreading myself way to thin... even as I type those words, I can feel the build up inside of me. I learned to change the word stress with the word "in demand". It is a funny little thing but I put it to use immediately. Now I no longer say I am stressed, and instead I say, "I am INDEMAND" which is so much more empowering!

A couple of other favorites that I learned is:

Instead of I don't like something or I hate something I now say "It's not my favorite"

or instead of saying I am tired, I now say, "I am getting my second wind".

If anybody has any great resources in regards to the power of language or words, I would love to hear about it. I attended Niurka's all day event which was even more insightful. She will be back at Next Level soon and I hope that I can tell her personally how much that little tidbit really empowered my life.

I hope I was able to pass a little something forward...

By the way, I no longer look at the past years as a burden... I have burned those badges or crutches recently that were great excuses for not living my life. I really realize now that they were powerful lessons... "The past is a mystery and the future is a mystery"... for the first time I am SOO looking forward to the trip.

It's amazing how we can transform our focus on the lacking into a focus on the abundance, with just a simple re-direction of our thoughts. Thanks for sharing your story with us. =)

I love that! I also love Anthony Robbins, "I'm a little peeved."

I have two re-framing statements I have picked up from the people of my adopted country.

If a person is asked if they liked this or that and they disliked it intensely the would say in response to the question, "not so much" instead of saying they hated the person, place or thing.

Question: Do you like being audited by the internal revenue service?
Answer: Not so much.

I have a friend who is a taxi driver here. The traffic is sometimes very heavy and the drivers seem to make the rules up as they drive. Sometimes a person will cut him off. Instead of ranting as some with road rage would do he says "come on in my friend." I have used this myself and find I think of the other person in a kind way.

After watching The Secret movie and learning about the Law of Attraction, I started to understand more how our thoughts can influence a lot of things. Words are verbalisations of what our thoughts are.

I make it my practice to choose my thoughts now. Often enough, things can be viewed from one perspective. And they need not always be in a negative light all the time.

It's great that you've found your way out from the pain that you've been suffering. I wish you all the best!

Love, light and hope,
Evelyn

Thank you everyone for the wonderful replys! Today has been particularly challanging and I find myself still falling back into old ways of speaking to myself. THANKFULLY, I can utilize some of the tools I have learned. It is about being accountable to myself on a daily basis. At Next Level I have that tool.

It is certainly a work in progress, I just keep sourrounding myself with like minded people both in person and online. I hope to be able to share some of the things I have learned with all of you. Sometimes it is interesting to get a newbies perspective.

So here's to the power of our words and how we can change ourselves and the world around us!
