I have to apologize. I just reread my post from November and it shocked me to see that is how I used to think. I know Gary Craig is not about the money. My mindset back then is not what it is now and vice-versa. It just takes time to really immerse yourself in it, but once you have the basics in your subconscious, you should be fine. I like to do it in public, that way I get all these stares. Then I tap on the fear of what other people think of me. Works like a charm.

I know this thread is old, but I just tried EFT myself. I tried using it on the topic of becoming completely financially independent. Something I discovered: 1) Feelings of guilt about "not having to work for a living" 2) Once I finally hit financial independence, (been on this mission for quite a while now), I'll be bored! 3) What will others think? Holy crap, I thought I was TOTALLY past these points of "fear of success". I can't believe that tapping brought these out so clearly! Wow. I'm impressed with this stuff. |

When it gets hectic at work, I tend to feel stressed. I tried the basic procedure and surprisingly, I didn't feel as stressed as I used to during similar work situations. I would say that my work stress went down a few points on the ten scale. I don't know how EFT works. Perhaps it's basically a simple pattern interrupt? I noticed that when I started to feel work stress, thoughts of the basic EFT routine geared towards work stress came to mind. I'm now thinking of something different rather than the pressure, tasks, and duties at hand; thus, the pattern was interrupted and I felt something different. I learned about all this from the tapping.com videos and the free ebook at emofree.com. I'm definitely going to look deeper into this. Anyone recommend any beginner DVD's or books? Edit: The process involves focusing on the negative issue at hand and even using a "reminder phrase" to ensure that you maintain focus (i.e. "I doubt my ability to manage the promotion, or I feel inadequate about being promoted"). Isn't this counterproductive? Sounds like you're shooting yourself in the foot when you repeat a negative affirmation over and over. Last edited by Peleke4; 09-21-2007 at 08:23 AM.

Peleke4, actually repeating the reminder phrase is necesary to get rid of the negative feelings, because its not only repeating a negative affirmation, its repeating an affirmation WHILE doing EFT to get rid of it, i recommend you to read the palace of posibitilies on EFT Provides Impressive Health and Emotional Freedom--New Discovery Often Works Where Nothing Else on the resources section, there it says that this affirmation are like writtings in our internal walls, and what we do is to delete this internal negative affirmations, then after we delete them we can replace them with better ones, great isnt it? |

When you perform the "Basic Recipe," do you repeat the negative affirmation during both "sequences?" I ask because I browsed EFT demonstrations on Youtube.com and some people start with negative affirmations during the first "sequence" and then the second time around they replace the negative with positive affirmations. Is that what you mean when you said, "...delete this internal negative affirmations, then after we delete them we can replace them with better ones..." Also, during the Gamut Procedure, are we supposed to focus on the issue at hand? Because after all the Gamut demonstrations I've see so far, no one repeats affirmations of any kind. After reading various reviews here and there, I ended up ordering Attracting Abundance with EFT: Emotional Freedom Techniques.

There seems to be various variations of how to do EFT, i for example focus and repeat the isse while doing the sequence and dont focus at all while doing the gamut, it has worked pretty well so far, experiment and see And yes, thats what i meant with changing the negative for positive affirmations, i follow a way that its explained in "the palace of posibilities" i think, you first do a round with the reminder phrase beign the negative one, the second round you do the sequence first with the positive affirmation as the reminder phrase, then on the next tapping point you switch to the negative phrase, next tapping point you go back to the positive phrase, and so on, and in the last round you do it only with the positive phrase as the reminder. It seems to have worked so far Great to see you want to learn more about EFT, its so exiting to see so much change, keep it up |

Before my work shift, I performed about six total sets of the standard EFT routine (no modifications) within a two day period. My work shift was very busy, much more than usual. Now, I am really at awe because I wasn't stressing out like I used to! I'm tripping out that such a simple technique that defies logic actually works! Man, it's so sweet to experiment w/ new things and to come across something that actually works; I feel as if I struck gold. But I should point out that I threw in EFT on top of NLP visualization techniques and deep breathing that I was already utilizing to cope with work stress. NLP and breathing did help to some degree; after throwing EFT into the equation, it seemed that all three meshed well together for effective results.

Nice to see EFT getting some free kicks again. I reckon its the best. Chrsitian223 is right, we get rid of the negative affirmations using EFT. That way you can use the positive ones without the negative tail-enders. See my post on it here. Also understand that once you get the hang of EFT you can be less "mechanical" about it.See here. But my biggest message about EFT, what you will get the most from, is to use it every day on SOMETHING, anything, as long as you tap at least daily. You'll get better at EFT and you'll feel better every day. Don't stop at fixing problems, use EFT with the LoA, with any health issues, anytime you get annoyed, anything. OK I'll stop ranting now! ;-) Much love to you Hazel |

Adding my 0.02 to the mix. I remember using EFT to work on various anxieties and "issues." It really worked, and it was weird how easy it was to not notice how well it worked. I remember that EFT site saying that people don't notice how they get better, and if it's important to "prove" its effectiveness to yourself, you should write down how much your issue is bothering you before you do the treatment. i.e. on a scale of 1 to 10. Then after doing the treatment, write down how much the issue is bothering you. Personally, I found that a bunch of anxieties dropped from a 7 or 8 down to a 2 or 3, and yet if I hadn't recorded my earlier rating, I would have felt that "it's obvious or natural" to have not have those things bother me anymore. It's fun to see EFT mentioned again... Perhaps I should dust it off and try it for a few new items in my life... |

I see a wealth of information to get started, but I'd thought I share some of my experiences with EFT, albeit it's been very recent since I picked up the endeavour. 1. You can detect physical changes when EFT is completed - literally energy flow, relaxation, state change, tingling. 2. Completed means, if you don't detect a change, you may not be addressing the core issue, being specific enough, or that there are "remainders" that you need to address. EFT setup using "Even though I STILL have..." helps quell the last bit. 3. It's interesting when you work with anger issues, that I detect movement, changes in the stomach area, belching, relaxing, a feeling of letting go. When I work with past fears, my abdomen changes. 4. Works great at blasting through limiting beliefs, fears, hold-ups. 5. It restores balance, and flow, so it's good at removing blockages quickly. To continue with your pursuit, you may need to resort to other techniques (though I'm still trying with EFT). |

One other thing I do sometimes that's effective is to switch reminder phrases as different issues and feelings come up, and just keep tapping, no matter how many rounds it takes - it's pretty intense, but it clears a lot of stuff out very fast.

EFT is amazing. 7 months ago, after my boyfriend killed himself, and blamed me. I was so filled with guilt and self-loathing for not preventing his suicide. I myself was suicidal because I felt I didn't deserve to live. I was also suffering from underlying depression, borderline personality, and bipolar. It usually takes years for survivors to recover. It took me approx. 5 months on weekly tapping sessions with a practitioner. Now, I rarely, if ever, think about the suicide. And if I do, I feel a detached sympathy for my boyfriend, almost as if he was an acquaintance. This is HUGE. I still have a lot of issues, but compared to just months ago, my life is totally different. I deeply encourage people to go on tapping.com and search for tapping videos on Youtube. |

EFT is good and all but some of the facts about how it works is wrong. There was a study conducted on the tapping of the meridian points and if that really is why it works. The tapping is used for desensitizing so you can naturally let go of the emotion/thought. The study also confirmed that it didn't even matter if you were tapping on your body or an inanimate object. Great technique but don't close your mind off to other techniques like releasing and becoming aware

I have experimented with EFT. It was useful sometimes, other times it was not. I do not believe in the meridian theory. I do believe it is a useful pattern interrupt. The wording of the technique is excellent. It allows one to think that even though one feels this issue, one can still feel acceptance. It really is great phaseology. I believe it is all about focus, pattern interupt and great phrasing (which leads a person into a certain direction). |

I love EFT. Ive been doing it for 3 years, EVERYDAY, and it is truly transforming. I use it everytime I am feeling something negative or discover a new limiting belief in myself. It works like a charm. Ive tried hypnosis, NLP, and the sedona methods. All of which are great, no doubt. But my favorite is EFT cause it is just so simple, yet effective. Ive asked Steve about it once. He said he's tried it but it didnt work for him. He only tried it once. Im not sure who he was with. But I have a feeling that whoever was with him did not explain to him all the aspects of EFT. How to Use EFT for Personal Development |

I really like Faster EFT from Robert Smith, it's EFT on steroids! Visit Faster EFT.com - The official website of Robert G. Smith, creator of FasterEFT to learn about it. It is essentially a combination of EFT, NLP and a couple of other techniques that takes the best of them in a pretty simple technique but is very effective. |
