Default Interesting Nap Phenomenon

Hi All,

Moderators - I apologize if this is the wrong forum, it just didn't feel psychic/paranormal to me

I've had the habit of taking a short, afternoon nap in my car on my lunch hour for several years. It's usually around 15-20 minutes, but sometimes as short as 5 minutes or as long as 30. I fall asleep very easily, usually within seconds, and when I awake I feel fresh and the nap seems to give me a great boost [consistent with the polyphasic / REM thing].

Here's the interesting part. For awhile now, I have noticed that just as I wake up from the nap, I have a very happy, excited feeling. The best way I can explain it is the feeling you get when you suddenly realize something that is very useful or exciting to you in the midst of going about your everyday business. I feel as though I dreamed about something that, if I could remember it, would help me in my waking life, but I can never remember what the dream was about.

Does anyone else share this experience? Any insight? I look forward to your thoughts

I take a power nap for 15-30 minutes whenever I'm feeling worn out mentally (not particularly tired), because I get my buzz back afterwards. I have to say I almost get the same effect meditating for the same amount of time too, but it's more of a passive buzz than an active buzz.

Maybe this is the same thing.

Do you also get the happy/excited buzz when you wake up? It only lasts a few seconds for me, by the time I have tried to think about what it is that made me feel that way during the sleep, the feeling is gone.
