Do you think some people are more luckier than others?

If so why do you think that they are?

I think it only looks like that. I think usually you get what you expect, at least that's how I see and experience it. So if you expect to be lucky you are eventually more so than others who expect to get the short end of the stick.

A relaxed, open attitude and involvement with the world around you increases the chances you make meaningful connection and spot opportunity.

I guess it comes down to what one means by "luck."

For instance, I consider myself lucky to have been born in a loving, respectful (well, usually) family, decent health and in a modern Western-style democracy. Those thing aren't anything I could control.

I forget who said it - perhaps Oprah Winfrey..? not sure - that luck is the confluence of preparation and opportunity. I've always liked that.

Nah luck doesn't exist.

'Luck' is a quality that is only applied in hindsight. When someone has been successful, we call them lucky. It's probably due to something else (probably hard work).

If that same lucky person gets a piano dropped on him, suddenly we don't call him lucky anymore, regardless of his previous fortunes.

'Luck' is just a way of justifying our own failure to get what we want.

Agree with DayInTheLife, I might be unlucky in certain things but I am still lucky in other aspect of my life and same is true for other people also. No body is born perfect.

If you want to covince me that you are lucky than I will consider you as a god because I think no human being is lucky. Its just how we see ourselves and others and then start comparing our circumstances with them and same thing applies to every one.

Oh, you have more control than you think.

For example, you can behave in a totally detestable fashion to your family members such that they no longer treat you with love and respect;

you could ruin your health by smoking heavily, eating junk food, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol; and periodically slashing your wrists with a knife;

and you could move to China.

If you put 100 people in a room and let them roll dices you will find that some of them roll higher than the rest. That the natural distribution of probality.
But that doesn't lead to them being again lucky if the experiment would be repeated. The second time there will be other people who "win".
