Default Stuck with a dull job for a while, how to deal with it?

Hello.

I made a thread about 4 months ago on a subject related to this. It was about my job and how i was going to get out of it.

In the meantime, i have made the decision to actually keep my job until september 2009. My vocational education ends there, and after thinking hard about all the factors that play into me working in this job i just decided this would be the smartest thing to do.

Which leaves me with the following situation: For the next 22 months, i will be spending around 9 hours per weekday in places that i mostly dislike doing labour that i absolutely dislike while having to deal with people that i'd rather not deal with.

Mind that i already fully accepted this outlook. What i'm now looking for is ways to make the path easier. While it's not going to destroy me physically (office work), it does feel very taxing on my general person. I sometimes feel like processing invoice paperwork during the time of the day when my body and mind are at peak performances might actually crush my creative spirit in the long run, for example.

So i guess what i am asking is: Did you ever have to endure a phase of malicious, repetitive and dull work in your life; and how did you deal with it?

You can try creative observation:

Even if you don't believe in intention-manifestation, it's an excellent skill to gain the mental discipline to keep your thoughts focused predominantly on what you want and how to achieve it.

I had a similar job in the past. I developed a very creative imagination and extensive fantasy life to cheer myself up.

You may remember an old movie with Arnold Schwarzennegger (sp?) called Pumping Iron which was basically a documentary of his rise to stardom in the bodybuilding world.

At one point, he's doing ab crunches with a workout buddy. Apparently Arnold just hated doing ab crunches because they bored him to tears. So his workout buddy asked him, "How do you stay focused doing those dreadfully boring exercises?"

Arnold smiled and said, "I think about how I'm going to spend my next $10,000."
