If you find yourself doing something just to avoid work, you need to refocus somehow. I find that if I can muster the willpower to go for a jog this can really help. Also, you could provide yourself with some incentive to get it done, plan some kind of reward for once you finish. Try to think about why what you need to do is important, this might motivate you.

I know what you mean, I have wasted quite a lot of my time just randomly surfing the internet instead of doing my work. Even now I am doing it Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks! |

Use Temptation Blocker, it'll block you from using software for periods of time you set (ie IE or the fox). The site seems to be down at the moment, but here's the gist of it reviewed by Workhappy.
