When I was in middle school I did something that was wrong, and my mother thought it was something terrible. After some grief I got over it. But 7 years later, I started thinking about it and now I start my morning with this thought. And it hits me during the day, this has been happening for about about 6 months now where this thought keeps coming back. But In my mind I am over it and I have forgiven myself and I dont think I did anything wrong. But still, it comes back, and I dont want to have that thought interrupt me doing while doing things throughout the day. I've read things like, look ahead, not behind. Or if you want to bring in the honey dont kick over the beehive, but it still comes back. any help to make this thought dissapear will be highly appreciated. thank you so much |

Hi judoalex, The field of neuro-linguistic programming has a lot of good techniques for dealing with unpleasant memories. A good technique for doing this is the swish pattern. Here are some descriptions of this technique: The Swish Pattern The Swish Pattern by Tim Mackesey The Swish The NLP Swish Pattern This book also has a lot of great techniques: Amazon.com: NLP: The New Technology of Achievement: Books: NLP Comprehensive,Steve Andreas,Charles Faulkner |
