my friend's mom is currently in the hospital. she's alot better now, but is going to need ALOT of physical therapy. are there any encouraging words i can tell her? i already told her i'm always there for her, and it will be better, but is there anything else i can say to her to make her feel better about her mom's case? |

I would remind her that she's already overcome many great obstacles in her life... that she obviously is a very strong and courageous person so there is no question that she will succeed again... and all that she has to do is keep the faith, take it one step at the time... and keep smiling... Also that she is a source of inspiration for you and that you thank her for it... . |

You can be there for her.....tell her that you are there to support both your friend and your mom even though you do not see the outcome you can still trust it, because of the strength in the support you are givng each other |

Based on my own experience from staying a long time at a hospital: The problem is that you don't have enough energy to do something entertaining like reading a good book. You want to disasociate mentally from the experience and be far away with your thoughts from the pain. That can mean retreating into old memory's or new ones. Telling her more about your own life (and that of your friend), is something that she could need. |
