Akashic Librarian mentioned on the daily "must do's" thread "do something that scares you". Whenever I come across a fear or difficulty that seems worth dealing with, I get excited and go after it. As a result I'm running a little low on new fears to conquer and thought people might have some ideas to share. I've already done public speaking, sales, skydiving, talking to/asking out random people (as well as some I deeply knew and cared for) and such, now I'm seeing what else we can dig up. This interests me because people usually have so much energy tied up fears, whether they're conscious of them or not, that the release of moving past them can be incredible (personal development for adrenaline junkies ...). Also I imagine other people's thoughts may inspire more to take action in liberating themselves from/through their perceived limitations.

Ask Slamhot whether or not he was serious when he suggested for the fourth time tonight we should go to Vegas and get hitched.

Stop procrastinating. I can't completely explain what causes me to put things off sometimes, but it's completely fear-based. I'm not a lazy person, as I just spent yesterday afternoon racking up a large shipment of servers that arrived earlier that day and had no trouble getting going with it, but if I'm dis-interested in something, I have a very hard time getting up the motivation.

Sell everything I own and move to another country, preferably one where I could help with something (hunger, shelter, etc.).

Going "all-in" on just about anything. I do a lot of stuff some would call risky, but I always hedge my bets.

| That tends to be how I do most things at this point, though only when it seems the fear is unjustified. I'm not about to do something JUST because it scares me when it seems likely to result in serious harm while offering little potential benefit in comparison (such as playing Russian Roulette). With my version of risk assessment I do tend to take a lot more risks than the average person, but I'm very conscious of exactly what risks I'm taking and how.
