Want to Carpool or Share a Hotel at a Workshop?

I thought it would be a good idea if we had a thread for people who are going to attend one or more of the workshops to post here to organize some carpooling and meet some friends before the event starts.

If you're looking to carpool state where you live and how long you want to stay for.

Also state if you want to share a hotel room.


So starting with me, I'm going to both the CGW and SRW. I live in Orange County but if I leave straight from work (highly likely) I'll be coming out of LAX.

I would like to stay Wednesday-Monday night to soak up as much of the experience as I can. I'd like to spend as little as possible on hotel accommodations. And when I say as little as possible I'm dead serious, I don't mind sleeping on the floor.

Btw, hello all.. I've been reading this blog for years, but I've just started posting in the forums.

As for the above topic, I'm attending CGW and am looking to stay cheap as well! As of now, I am staying just the three nights - Thursday, Friday and Saturday and leave Sunday evening. (I am driving from Costa Mesa, CA)

I am definitely down to share a room since $145 a night is not what I was planning. I just figured it's all going to work out beautifully. I'm waiting to watch it unfold.

I have an unfortunate announcement to make... My boss wasn't too happy about me taking days off to go to SRW as it's one of our busiest months. >_O So bummed, hopefully I can at least take Friday off. Going to this workshop means SO MUCH to me ahhhh....

I won't know if I can take that Friday off til the event gets nearer. To get a refund, Steve said I need to let him know two weeks before the workshop if I can't go. So that's my deadline...

Hey guys I'm attending CGW and SRW. I haven't booked accommodation yet, and I'm up for hotel room sharing or even a shared room at a hostel if we can get a few people together.

As for ridesharing, my plans are pretty nebulous. I'm going to burning man this Sunday, and somehow finding my way from there --> San Francisco --> Vegas. Anyone in SF going to CGW, I would be happy to help out with driving, sharing expenses etc.

Hi there! I'm coming to the CGW from Redwood City, CA, would be down for carpooling with someone else from the area. I have a car, would prefer to drive down with other women if possible - would like to share housing also!

I just signed up and am interested in sharing a room. I am flying in from Sacramento CA. Have not booked flights yet. Looking to get a fix on pre and post activities first.

Hey all- feel free to crash at my place in Vegas for CGW- didn't realize this one was coming up so quick or I'd have posted earlier- couches/floor/tents etc, I have lots of blankets and sleeping bags and stuff. You can check out my earlier posts on previous CGW 'who's coming' threads to see more info about my place-

I've been to a couple CGW's and they're great, and the people are awesome. I'll decide in the next day or two if I'm going to this one. Let me know if you'd like to stay, and look forward to meeting you :-)
