Default Conscious Growth Workshop in Romania?

Hi Steve,

This is Dragos Roua, I've been at your first CGW in Vegas, in 2009. I was talking with a friend the other day and he expressed interest in coming to one of your workshops. That was after I gifted your book to him and he started to read it with pen and paper handy. Told him you're no longer doing them, but then he asked me what it would take for you to come to Romania. Since I don't know the answer to that question, I thought to ask.

To be honest, Romania (or, for what matters, keeping CGWs all over Europe) sounds like a great planet B for you. At least it sounds like a great planet B for you from where I am, namely in Romania.

It does involve a little bit of risk, some unexpected stuff, new challenges and a lot of stretching out of the comfort zone, that's for sure. Your kind of stuff, so to speak :-)

Let me know your thoughts on this one.

Oh, btw, wishing you a more stable 2011. In many respects, 2010 was almost identical for me. Splitting up from my ex-wife, a lot of unexpected challenges, etc. 2011 sounds like a time for freezing the change.

Best,
Dragos :-)

The main challenges would be:

1) Securing a good location, especially one where we can go out and have people do social courage exercises if possible.

2) Can I still do the workshop in English? Or would we need a translator? I've never done a translated workshop before, so that would slow things down if we need one.

3) Would there be enough interest?

4) Could it be done in a cost-effective way, so I don't lose money on it? I don't need to make a ton of money from it, since it seems like a cool experience, but I wouldn't want to lose money on it.

I wouldn't try to do this on my own. I'd need at least one good person in Romania who can help make the arrangements locally, promote the workshop, help decide pricing, help with translation if needed, etc.

These are some of the main issues. There are lots of little details that go into putting on a workshop, most of which are invisible to the attendees.

I would be happy to help. I still have a lot of connections that could help us make the necessary arrangements.

1. A good location => yes, it can be secured. From 30 persons up to 200 persons if you want.

2. Absolutely. Almost anyone in Romania knows English and those who would be interested in this are supposed to be already exposed to your message. Which is in English.

3. I think so. Let me try this: I would post a message on Twitter and Facebook letting people know that there is a possibility for you to come to Romania and ask them if they would attend. I have a couple of thousands Romanian followers and a few hundreds of Romanian Facebook friends. Do you agree with this dry test? (Meaning I won't post until you confirm you agree).

4. From the top of my head, I think the minimum number of attendees for you to have a little bit of profit (not only making this in a cost effective way) is 30. That sounds feasible for me. The sooner we start (meaning the more time we have to promote it) the better. More people will be exposed and there's a better chance for them to take action. Please keep in mind that Romania would be an interesting place for people from other countries to come too (Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, they're all 2-3 hours of flying away).

Again, I would be happy to be the person in Romania helping you with all the hassle. I've done a few workshops myself and been exposed to many others so I know what to expect.

How does March sounds to you?

It looks like Steve announces a new workshop close to 3 months before it occurs (in his home city).

Wow, that would be AMAZING! I also live in Romania, and people are really being more and more open to personal growth in every way. We have many great things happening here, but not that many workshops of this magnitude.

Last week however Sonia Choquette was here, and I was lucky to participate. She held 2 workshops, one in Timisoara (one of the largest cities) and one in Bucharest which is the capital. Everyone I've talked to was delighted to have taken part, and about 37 of us attendees created a Facebook group and we keep in touch every day. I must admit though that the numeber of participants was not so big (under 100 for Bucharest)... It depends a lot on the cost too...

If you come I will hold the intention of being there and ask my guides for a miracle, as I did when Sonia was here (which they provided promptly), and if I'm meant to be there I will, for sure!

Everyone I know who is below 40 speaks English, but most of them don't understand everything, every nuance and may not understand if you speak very fast. But to avoid reducing the content of the workshop in half, I think the best would be either headphone translation or no translation at all (and announcing that so people know what to expect).

I know I have to this three times, so here's my second one: would you give it a try, Steve? It would be fun. And challenging. Your kind of stuff

With enough slaves to make it work, it sounds doable.

Sonia is a friend, so I might ask her how it went next time I see her.

That's the spirit, Savage Let me know your thoughts on this one (especially after Sonia's answer) and let's start doing this in an organized way. I still have to ask you one more time to make it to the magic number

So, they say third time is magic. Any plans to come to Romania yet? Beautiful scenery, lots of room to grow for people here and a lot of unexpected waiting for you to bump in.
