Default Where did you stay?

If you've attended a previous CGW, where did you stay during your trip?

If the poll options don't describe your situation, please explain. I'm trying to get a feel for how many people actually stayed out the hotel where CGW was hosted vs. staying someplace else.

I was at CGW #2 and #3 and stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo. It was the pinkish building set behind the Flamingo.

I voted for "on-Strip" because technically it is. I didn't stay at the Flamingo itself so I can't vote for "same hotel as conference".

I stayed in the same hotel (the flamingo) and I'm glad I did. I've been to Vegas before for other conferences and staying off-site was not as convenient.

For CGW#1 I stayed at Imperial Palace, basically next to Harrah's. For CGW#5 I stayed at the Flamingo. I voted somewhere else.

Default Two options

Just like Daan, I stayed at the Flamingo for CGW5, but for CGW1 I stayed at the Imperial next door.

Also, agreed that the Flamingo was the better choice, even though it cost slightly more. The convenience of being right there outweighed the cost.

Default ok i voted then realized I need an explaination

#1 - Orleans

#2 - IP

# 3 and #5 Off Strip other

By far, I prefer the off strip other place which had a kitchen and separate bed room/living room and free wired internet. I was able to do this because I drove instead of flew and had some extra time to play.

Cheers!

P.S. Did anyone attend all of the workshop? Other than staff I mean...

For CGW 4, I stayed at Bill's

For CGW 5, I stayed at Holiday's house, who is a local and was also attending CGW for the first three nights. My last night, I ended up with a suite at Bill's and shared it with two other CGWers who had an early flight the next morning. Both were great experiences.

I think this may be a convenient way to get a feel, but would it be the most accurate? Not everyone at CGW is active on the forum, and not everyone on the forum went to CGW.

I only need a ballpark estimate.

Two times:
(CGW 1) on strip at different hotel (IP).
(CGW 2) off-strip (?) vacation condo (It was Las Vegas Blvd S, so technically the same physical street, but down below the airport).

I answered the poll w/ first one.

I answered other:

#2 - Couchsurfing 20 minute bus ride away, so I could destimulate.
#5 - Flamingo hotel with CGW roommate, to maximum social connection this time even at risk of overstimulation/over-extraversion.

#5 - Flamingo

I'm pleased I did. I had considered the Stratosphere, but after actually being in Vegas I realised how this would have been a dumb idea. Being on site allowed me to rest for a few minutes in my room each lunch break, and as I totally underestimated the effects of the flight, this was pretty important!

I stayed at the Flamingo for CGW #3. My room was located on the facing the courtyard. It was quiet and peaceful. I absolutely loved walking through the courtyard at night.

I chose the most convenient location and it was great for my first time.

If given the opportunity to go again, I think that I would take a more economical route and challenge myself to keep the budget as low as possible as an exercise in its own.

I voted "somewhere else" just so that I could see the poll results (without having to click on them everytime I come in the thread). I've never attended a CGW.

Just wanted to let you know so that you can discard my vote.
