Updates already Back story: In the hot seat at CGW#5, I committed to telling three important friends about my "other life" of writing a travel website. I guess I decided that was too easy and instead started by telling my mom that I'm contemplating a career change to study women and power. My mother believes that peace and happiness come through (and only through) believing in Jesus and that God has organized life so that women are supposed to be submissive to men who in turn are suppose to submit to Jesus. Needless to say, sharing that I don't go to church, don't believe that Jesus is the right religion for me, and want to spend my life helping women come into their power is a significant disappointment for her. And how did she respond? "I love you and I want you to be happy. I'm glad that you felt you were able to tell me this. And I'm glad that you are searching for truth." So why did I take so many years to share this?!? Why was I convinced that my choices would make her hate me and be the end of my life as I knew it?!? Thanks to Steve for getting me on stage and asking me the questions that got me convinced I needed to do this. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories to help me understand that regardless, telling the truth is the best way to be with the people in my life. And thanks to everyone at CGW who helped support me to feel that I could take this step. And to those who do have something that you're afraid to tell someone you love: Tell them. You might be surprised at their response. I certainly was. |

I like my site and really enjoy writing it. After CGW though, I'm feeling myself redirected towards studying women and how to be powerful and feminine at the same time. I got some really great ideas on how to make that a reality. So we'll see | |

That is such wonderful news! It's small courage victories like this that build you up to such bigger and better things. I bet that if we had this on the courage worksheet, it would have been a 3, or possibly even a 4 or 5, and you tackled it head-on and bared your truth without fear - that is so awesome. I'm glad that others' stories helped you gather the courage for this, the fact that telling my story may have helped another gather their courage makes me warm and fuzzy inside. So many /hugs and <3, hope things go well with telling your friends! |

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I found out that it is also very much the vibe I bring to conversations. When I am full of fear of rejection, chances are high that I will be rejected. When I am filled with the joy that comes from being connected to my true self and willing to be known for that, people usually love it (and if they don't, I don't care so much). |

Glad to hear it. Just so you know, the Canadian accent definitely came out during the hot seat. But at least your accent doesn't make ya sound like an underedumacated hillbilly, right? |

Razilee: Good going -- what a wonderful and positive outcome! Thank you for your honesty and I'm so pleased to hear we helped encourage what you probably already knew in your heart was the right path...and that we could be that support for you. Rock on! Lisa |

This is so fantastic to hear. I have a similar story which I will share soon, once the dialog for it has been complete (which is a little more difficult when you are traveling due to timezone differences. Also I did not notice the Accent, however I had just been in Vancouver for 10 days. |

Thank you all for your encouragement I've also been talking to my friends about why I was in Vegas and what I'm planning to do. I have not made any particular effort to meet up with those individuals to discuss this, as I've realized that those are not connections that need to be very close in my connection map! However, I have shared what I was scared to share with 2 of 3 friends so far Quote:
