Wow, AMAZING CGW#5!!! I can totally see why Alex, Matty, and Bron went on a road trip and visited so many CGWers after theirs. I'm road-tripping another week or so now then staying put through the holidays, but I'm planning a big multi-month road-trip for a US border loop next year, and I'll happily go a couple hundred miles out-of-route to meet up with any CGWers who'd enjoy a visit! I'll be going south down the CA coast from San Fran to San Diego, then cross-country East on 10 (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida) before heading up the East Coast and doing a little "tour" of Civil War sites along the way (Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania), then I'm checking out Niagara Falls and crossing up into Canada for the trip back West through Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia) before coming back down the West Coast (Washington, Oregon) to get back home in California. I'd love to see everyone and anyone from CGW along the way, so let me know if you'd like a visit and what state you're in. And if anyone wants to tag along for some portion of the journey, let's talk schedules! With much love and gratitude after an amazing CGW#5, Cynthia |

Alternatively, I may stay in Vegas one more weekend and start the drive to Mom & Dad's next week. Let me know what your schedules like over the next 15 days or so, and where you are in Colorado, and maybe we can get together before the big road trip next summer!

| I've been trying to find you on Facebook, Kevin! I think it would be awesome to hang out in Vegas Thursday night after I'm back from Atlanta. I'm not completely convinced I'm ready for the two-day drive to South Dakota . . . a few more days in Vegas would be really cool. You around this Thursday night or this weekend?

| Actually, I've been talking to Alexandra L. in Sacramento about getting together in January after the holidays . . . maybe we could all three get together some weekend afternoon in Sac or somewhere convenient to all three of us?

Come visit me in Mexico!!! I know that there was another guy at CGW (sylvain) who was looking to travel, just didn't know what to do yet and was getting kinda bored with visiting cities by himself... Sent me a PM and I'll introduce you guys on facebook! |

| I had put some thought into going into Mexico this trip, actually, but I'm a little nervous about driving an RV towing a Jeep in Mexico . . . my impression of the road infrastructure has been that much of it isn't great for big heavy vehicles. You're in Mexico City, right? I've never been there. Do you have any idea if the roads are pretty good between Mexico City and, say, Texas? I would LOVE to visit you! P.S. I hung out with Sylvain last Thursday in Vegas, we went ziplining with Kevin and Maria from CGW5, it was tons o' fun. I think he's flying out from Chicago in another couple weeks, but maybe he'll come back next summer, I'll see what he's up to when I start laying out the itinerary. |

The roads are normal roads. Just highways like you have in every other country. Of course, as soon as you get more inland, and away from the larger cities you might have one lane roads for 2 way traffic, but in general the roads are well maintained. There is a lot of heavy traffic going from the US to Mexico anyway, trucks and stuff. So I don't think that will be a problem. I would stick to the low lands as much as possible, but that is maybe more me being afraid of driving in the mountains talking I think the biggest difficulty you might have is trying to find a space or even just driving in Mexico City. The roads are good, but it is chaotic at times...

| Funny how things work out, eh? Such a bummer that they had to order more parts for my RV and the work is taking an extra week here in Vegas, right? I've developed a real thing for Las Vegas and it's energy. When I mapped out the original mega road trip, Vegas wasn't really on it, but it's within my "couple hundred miles out-of-route" stipulation, so I think I'll work in another visit to Vegas on the "big" road trip. |

| After a litle more digging on the distance and route, well, I'm just going to have to make a special trip just for doing Mexico next! I've always wanted to see the Yucatan, and to date I've only been in Mexico at the border towns, which i suspect are not representative of the entire country. So, next time, Mexico! And, for everyone else to consider . . . I'm going to want a travel buddy on this one! |

Yay! I'm so excited to know I'm going to see so many of you again! AND I'll even some CGWers from #1-4, this is going to be an awesome journey. Just to mention, in case you were thinking I'm quitting my job to go on the road, that's not my plan, I'll still have to work during business hours, so anyone with a serious interest in the possibility of traveling with me for some segment of the journey, you'll have to tolerate staying put during the weekdays while I'm working my 9-5er, but you can always go out exploring on your own. I think it would be totally cool if anyone can tag along for any part of the journey and visiting CGWers all over the country! The RV sleeps four adults (with 2 queen beds), so multiple people can join in anywhere along the route. I'll post more later as my plans line up. Thanks everybody for your interest!! Big CGW Hug to All, Cynthia |
