I thought I'd show my face a little bit on these forums and do something useful for most people and start this thread for discussing all the pre and post workshop fun that people may be planning. It seems like some people are going to be getting to Vegas preeetty early and staying late, so I'm personally curious about what kind of activities people have in mind. What kind of meet ups are we planning before hand/during? Dinner/movies/shows? What kind of sights are there to see (free/cheap included please! What kind of shared interests do we have that we could indulge in amidst the talk of growth and masterminding (guitarists speak up!)? Blah blah blah. You get the picture |

During CGW we will be making announcements designed to help people get together who are wanting to do similar activities. A lot of people want to know where the vegan and raw restaurants are. And off the strip there are many activities to enjoy. If you end up hiking in Red Rock Canyon, be sure you take a rental car. It's hard to get a taxi to go out to Red Rock to pick you up. And laser tag is a fun group activity, though I think it is closed on Mondays. Sometimes people go to shows but we caution you to get to bed at a reasonable hour. It seems that on Saturday and Sunday morning some people stagger in having not gotten quite enough sleep. Shows usually start at 7pm and 10pm, so plan accordingly. |

I will probably be getting in Thursday night, and leaving Monday morning, although I am not sure what times. I'd like a dinner meeting as soon as I arrive. That'd be awesommme. One (free of cost!) thing I just thought of that I'd like to do, even though this would probably be the kind of thing you do spontaneously, is something like a Take Away Show, which is simply a live concert that happens spontaneously on street corners, in bars and restaurants, alleyways, ect. A bunch of us, with or without instruments, could just walk down the Strip singing and dancing and trying to get as many strangers to join in as possible. As a general idea, I'd like to get some kind of competition going between CGWers. The Take Away Show thing would work well with this, with multiple groups of CGWers in different areas competing to see who could get the most number of people to join in their choir/band by a certain time.

I should try to get an idea of whether people would appreciate a party or just hanging out in their rooms or on the strip. If we did throw a party, there would have to be a separate cost to get in to cover snacks and drinks.

As is the tradition...during the workshop we use the #pavlina twitter hash to coordinate fun activities...we can continue this as well... this just means that you save a search with #pavlina in twitter and then include #pavlina in your tweets so we can become a temporary (or lifelong) little community!! CHEERS! |

Ok so here goes Fly in 24th Oct 3.15PM (from Vancouver via seattle) Fly out 2nd Nov 12.30PM I am open to some of the ideas such as Red Rock Canyon, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, as well as any other tourist/not so tourist spots, with good photography opportunities. I did have the thought of the potential of renting a van or car depending on how many might be interested, and doing a self drive tour, and just split the cost of the rental between those who come along. Could make it much more affordable then a Paid tour (and maybe someone local might like to tag along for a tour guide Looking forward to more ideas |

| Thursday night dinner? Yes, please. Dancing? Hell yeah. I'm going to hit up some clubs either way. Not to mention the unlimited Gameworks day pass on which I DDR'd for >3 hours last time I visited -- GREAT deal for that. Free activities like hiking? Yes, please. I'm around from: AM Wednesday (27th) through early AM Tuesday (2nd) For myself I'm leaving plenty of time for masterminding where it's easy enough to hear and make notes and such. Cooking up ideas, plots, projects, work connections... Alex G |

Hey- I know a really nice hike that begins about 5 miles past the Hoover dam into Arizona, goes to the Colorado river as well as some hot springs. Maybe 4 miles each way, we can leave after breakfast and be back before dinner. There're 2 ways to go, but either way will have sections that are a bit strenuous, one more than the other. Bron & Alex Wu & I did this earlier this year, it was fantastic. I think I'll plan on doing this Monday, and anyone who wants to join can do so. I can take 4 people with me. Kevin |

Is it doable for someone with a medium to bad physical condition? would I need special hiking shoes or are my tennis good enough? I'll take a back pack with me, just in case...

Can you hike 8 miles? Some of it is in soft sand, which is tough. There are also a couple tough uphills (on good trails) and a little bit of rock scrambling. There's also this (hike spoiler!): Arizona Hot Springs Hike (look at the last picture in the frame) which was just replaced and is very strong and in good condition... I think you can do it! Holiday, My flight leaves at 10:30 Monday night, so I'm assuming I need to be at the airport between 8:30-9:00. Think I'd be able to make it, or would I be cutting it too close? PS-I imagine I'd also need some shower time. Would anyone be willing to let me use your shower |

Yes, Monday November 1st- Tennis shoes'll be fine Sandra :0) Glad to have you along Vijay! I think 8:30 arrival at the airport will be no problem- we'll plan on finishing the hike by 4:00 and start driving back, there is a huge unknown which is Hoover dam traffic, it can be minimal or as much as an hour... (edit- actually it appears the bypass bridge will be open by then...no damn dam traffic!) btw we'll also see this awesome bridge which is near completion: Hoover Dam Bypass And this weekend I heard about a park in Boulder city where we are likely to see some bighorn sheep, which are magnificent!
