Default CGW Call #36 - Sunday, September 12, 8 am PDT

Hello everybody!

Our traditional time to make the call is 8 am PDT on Sundays so I suppose this week it will also be that.

I am not sure in taking part in the call this week. I tend to choose other activities being abandoned for a while and have no idea for the topic of the call.

I suppose permanent participants (Alex Portillo aka Burriss5000 or Marc Robertson or Eloy Maes) will hold the call without problems.

Gentlemen, please write down the instruction for new participants whom they should join in Skype.

I also ask new and non-permanent participants to write down their intention to join. Maybe I'll become inspired and join too.

I offer to discuss the topic of Priorities and results during the call.
It can be detailed like that:
  1. What were your priorities for this week if were?
  2. How good were you in following them?
  3. What did that following bring to you?
And so on.

This topic seems universal and suitable to every call. It can be used every time when the topic is not defined.

Hi Pavel,

I've never been to a CGW, but I'm planning to attend CGW#5. I'd like to join the call tomorrow and have sent you a Skype request.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Hi Razilee,

Be sure to add me, Burris5000 (Alex Portillo) on skype before 8 AM PDT, as I will probably be coordinating the call tomorrow morning. You will soon find out that we are an open and welcoming group.

Thanks Alex, Julie, Colin, Irene and Sanjay for taking part!
It was a pleasant call.

For those who didn't take part for any reason (eg. like Niall Doherty with his exercises): I am especially impressed by Irene's voice who seems is smiling with every word.
It feels very (positively) energetic and appreciating.

So, if you missed this call you get this experience next week, Irene plans to take part

I'd also like to post here our dialogue with Julie after the call.
I think you can find it interesting.
It is about patterns, perceptions, languages, oneness and vegetarianism.

[20:30:24] Julie Jarnagin: My bffs are meeting me at the beach for a vacation
[20:30:31] Julie Jarnagin: just a weekend
[20:30:43] Pavel Nosikov: what is bffs?
[20:30:57] Julie Jarnagin: best friends forever
[20:31:09] Pavel Nosikov: wow, interesting explanation
[20:31:22] Julie Jarnagin: girls from college I've known for a long time...that is computer slang
[20:31:40] Pavel Nosikov: we don't have such an explanation in Russian and it will be very helpful
[20:32:02] Julie Jarnagin: we have about twenty slang words for everything and they change all the time!
[20:32:13] Pavel Nosikov: direct translations sound not so good like "best friends forever" in English
[20:32:31] Julie Jarnagin: ahh, I see
[20:32:51] Pavel Nosikov: studying languages make you know thoughts that are inavailable in your own language
[20:33:57] Julie Jarnagin: that's why I am so wowed by your ability to do it...I don't know anything about other languages...makes me feel a bit behind the times but not enough to do anything about it I suppose since I haven't
[20:35:10] Julie Jarnagin: I try to speak the universal language...see if I can figure out the feelings which are the same all over
[20:35:36] Pavel Nosikov: English language is so reach in terms of thoughts and so on that sometimes it seems to me that if it was my mothertongue I won't study any other one
[20:35:59] Pavel Nosikov: Yes, the language of feelings in universal!
[20:36:04] Julie Jarnagin: do you mean rich?
[20:36:27] Pavel Nosikov: yes, I meant rich, exactly
[20:36:57] Julie Jarnagin: I never realized that. I've heard it is difficult for people to learn moreso than others for some reason
[20:37:49] Pavel Nosikov: it's not because of the language itself but because of people and cultures speaking it
[20:38:21] Pavel Nosikov: it's just language on the edge, most interesting and progressive happen in it
[20:38:42] Julie Jarnagin: What little Spanish I learned, the assignment of masculine and feminine to objects was strange to me. Why is a door female?
[20:40:27] Pavel Nosikov: oh, it's everywhere in Russian and German too, as I know for certain, and in Italian as I think
[20:40:54] Julie Jarnagin: so, that's a common thing in other languages?
[20:41:04] Pavel Nosikov: yes, in Russian door is also female
[20:41:16] Julie Jarnagin: bet you don't know why!
[20:41:21] Pavel Nosikov: and in German a flower is female
[20:41:34] Julie Jarnagin: that at least seems more logical
[20:42:09] Pavel Nosikov: in German it's quite easy. If the last letter of a noun is -e - it's female
[20:42:29] Pavel Nosikov: in Italian something like that
-o - male
-a - female
[20:42:35] Julie Jarnagin: I guess they don't do androgeny?
[20:43:22] Julie Jarnagin: that means like uni-sex not either one per say
[20:43:37] Pavel Nosikov: -e - neuter
[20:43:55] Julie Jarnagin: yes, but that part is not even relevent because they are neither
[20:44:25] Pavel Nosikov: this is just grammatics most people don't feel anything strange about it
[20:44:50] Julie Jarnagin: neuter implys there was something there to remove
[20:44:59] Julie Jarnagin: ex-male
[20:45:40] Julie Jarnagin: but, yes we do get very specific in our language which I think was your point!
[20:46:21] Pavel Nosikov: When we were studying English we were told that men are male gender, women are female and what is not human beings (not alive) - it's neuter.
And one girl asked:
Why flowers and trees are neuter in English - there are alive!
[20:46:37] Pavel Nosikov: When we were studying Englishin childhood
[20:47:05] Julie Jarnagin: we want reasons and that works for me
[20:47:12] Pavel Nosikov: that is the theme of oneness with plants too
[20:47:57] Julie Jarnagin: it is but just presented in that way....I missed it in school, the real meaning anyway
[20:48:20] Pavel Nosikov: and in makes me not vegetarian. Because i'm the one not only with animals but with plats too. They are anyway alive and I anyway eat them
[20:48:43] Julie Jarnagin: oh, you can't eat anything guilt free, lol!
[20:49:02] Pavel Nosikov: and why shouldn't I eat one thing that is part of myself and don't eat other thing that's also a part of myself?
[20:49:27] Julie Jarnagin: Nice perspective...I like it
[20:49:44] Julie Jarnagin: I have a similar one
[20:50:31] Pavel Nosikov: .I missed it in school, the real meaning anywayI think explanations of genders is meaningful just for foreighners. Children asks millions of questions but they are rarely interested why trees and flowers are neuter
[20:51:00] Pavel Nosikov: they just get it as norms of langauge that they learnin from birth
[20:51:05] Julie Jarnagin: yes, we want to know why about everything but the answers are not so clear sometimes
[20:51:50] Julie Jarnagin: it just proves how much our environment influences so much of who we are
