Are you going to be at CGW5? Whether you're an alumni or a first-timer, we'd love to hear from you! Where in the world are you coming from, how long are you staying in Vegas, and what you hope to get out of the experience. Me, I've got my hotel booked (staying at the Flamingo from Tuesday 10/27 thru Thursday 11/04), and looking to have an awesome time at the workshop and hanging out before and after. |

Yes I will be attending! I am planning my halloween costume already. I want to learn to belly dance so perhaps that is what I will be. Then again if I am a true belly dancer by then, will that really be getting into costume?

Wow, I can smell the anticipation for CGW5! This will be my first CGW. I'm flying in from Singapore, a small, rapidly developing city republic in Asia. I am keen to meet up with all of you wonderful people, and to make Olympian leaps in my career, social, physical, and recreational pursuits. I will be also taking this opportunity to do a road trip around California. Most probably, I will be staying at the Flamingo from the 28th (Thu) to the 1st (Mon). Two questions I would like to ask; any advice in this regard is much appreciated. - Will it be possible to book the deluxe room first and then upgrade to a GO deluxe later if it's not good enough? - What are good places in Vegas to rent a Halloween costume and to celebrate Halloween? See you people! |

Well, you probably can upgrade the room (unless they're full). They may even offer you an upgrade at check-in for X dollars... I've stayed at Flamingo a couple times and find that the deluxe room is adequate for the average person's tastes. Nothing fancy, a little bit old and worn in fact, but it's comfortable enough for the amount of time you'll actually spend in the room.

The key to maintaining hotel flexibility is to book straight with the hotel. Don't lock yourself in by going through a third party. Then you have the right to cancel up until really close to your arrival day. If you find a better deal in the meantime--you can change your plans! Also the hotel treats you better and provides you with more perks if you book straight through them. It makes sense because they don't need to share the profits as they would when you book through a third party.

I'll be attending the heck out of this one! @Mabel: I vote for belly dancer! You could be a belly dancer from a different century. Although belly dancer fashion may not have changed much during the last few millennia @Colinh: Stay longer! The extra two or three days are worth it! |

I'm 99% sure I'll be attending, just have to double check some details first... (maybe while I'm at CGW I'll kick my habit of procrastination And Mabel, I think the best costume is when someone dresses as their ideal self; I say go for it! I'm thinking of doing that myself (ideal profession that is... not belly dancer) Or maybe we should all come dressed as characters off Star Trek, I'm sure Steve would get a kick out of that |

I have stayed at the Flamingo and at another hotel. It was much more convenient to meet up with participants for me while staying at the Flamingo. I do like coming in to town a few days early and leaving a few days after the workshop. |

Would like to. I'm coming from Fort Worth, Texas. Last time I checked, Southwest Airlines did not fly to Las Vegas on the requested day. I'm considering a road trip instead as I really don't like flying on American Airlines. Anyone interested in joining me?

I had a great time at CGW #4, so I may come to CGW #5 if I can fit it in my schedule. I probably won't stay in Vegas for a week like last time. I would just stay for the weekend. I probably won't know for sure until about 1 month ahead of time.

But, if I win the lottery, if I make some extra unexpected money, or if my husbands bonus is higher... I'll most likely try to go to both. I'd love to connect with all the wonderful people from the forum here! Another option is to go with my husband for a nice weekend of sightseeing, and not going to the CGW, but connecting to the lovely people before and afterward. I'll keep you informed. I love road trips, and for me it would be just as easy to fly to Texas as to LV. Probably easier and cheaper actually

I"m REALLY tempted to give this a go. I've never been to such a seminar, and it would be so nice to be surrounded by positive, motivated people. For those of you that have been, I have a few questions: 1. What is a reasonable budget? A couple of nice meals a day and a little bit for evening spending money. I won't be drinking, and I don't gamble, so that doesn't need to be accounted for. Think I could do it on $75 a day (transportation in Vegas, etc). 2. Is it best to stay at the Flamingo, or can I find a cheaper hotel a few blocks away? 3. What happens after the seminar is finished for the day? Do most people break off into groups and do things together, or does everyone go their separate ways? Oh, and I'd be coming from Atlanta, Ga. |

90802 you'll get some good responses. Here are mine. 1. Breakfast could be 10 bucks or less at the cafe or kiosks. Lunch for 15 or less. Dinner for 25 or less. I mean you could obviously spend more but that would get you pretty far. A lot of people pop into whole foods nearby and take groceries back to their room and eat breakfast in their room (bagels, muffins, fruit, juices, etc.) 2. There are a couple of cheaper hotels very close to Flamingo. Buffalo Bills or Imperial Palace are within easy walking distance. you get waht you pay for though. Not terribly good accommodations. Flamingo has the convenience of being accessible to you throughout the day so you could potentially pop into your room for a meal or a quick nap during lunch. Other good but inexpensive hotels include Excalibur and Stratosphere, but would require transportation to Flamingo each day. 3. A lot of people go to dinner together. When we send you out of the room I try to get people meeting up in certain spots so they can go to dinner together. And sometimes people hit a show. Everyone so far has been so friendly and welcoming towards everyone. If you want to hang out, you will have people to hang out with for sure. |

Hmm. I thought back in April I'd be making enough money by October to go. Doesn't look that way now. Sorry Steve, but I reject your idea that I'm not aligned with power enough. I'm just in a transition phase after leaving my job.

See if you can recognize that the core pattern remains unchanged... that something outside of you has power over you -- because you empower it. No need to name any specific excuse of the moment. A transition has no power over you. It's merely a concept. Every minute of every day is a transition. Also note that you're doing the same thing with CGW itself, feeding it too much of your power, making it into something other than what it is. CGW is simply a tool at your disposal, one of many.
