I am attending CGW 3. Originally I considered just showing up and hang around with people I knew and meet newcomers outside the conference. After talking to some of my friends who were actually attending the conference again I decided to attend also partly because my friends were ther but mostly because the energy in the room is so powerful. I arrive in Vegas on May 11th, I will be staying at Bil's the hotel next to than Flamingo. I decided to stay there because I wanted something a little bit different than staying at Flamingo as I did at CGW 2. CGW booked and paid for CHECK Ticket to Vegas BOOKED Hotel reservations BOOKED See you all in May! |

Bill's??? Careful, I stayed there last time Gene, it's haunted!!! But you can probably handle the ghosts, maybe even help them, so you'll probably be fine. I'll bet it's also cheaper than the Flamingo. I'm also going to be at CGW3 with bells and whistles on |

I'll be there for the Toastmaster meeting on Monday, but I'm planning on going to the Grand Canyon on Tuesday. No "laser" tag for me.

Yeah, we moved around a lot of the tables and chairs for the meetup. The food court staff didn't look very pleased with us. Towards the end of the night, they approached one of the meetup-ers and asked "Who is responsible for organizing this party?" And the meetup-er turns around and points at me! Thanks guy! The staff guy walks up to me and says "Is this your party?" to which I reply "well, sort of...", and what does he say? "Can I clean up these tables?" He just wanted to know if he could bus the tables (we had broken into a number of groups, standing and sitting around away from the tables). I think Caesar's Palace will do fine once more |

I like the idea of laser tag too. But I'm staying Wednesday the 12th till Thursday the 20th, so we shouldn't have any issues fitting things in. And if Mattyblu winds up moving to Vegas...

I went to this link for booking the hotel (I am thinking Imperial) http://www.i4vegas.com/HotelSearchResults/ After I made the selection, it said that the amount will be charged to the credit card once I hit confirm. I thought one need not pay for booking. Or am I missing something? EDIT : okay I think I found the right link. It was in Steve's post. Last edited by cacheborn; 04-12-2010 at 08:32 AM. |

Hotels usually charge one night on your card to hold the room. You pay the balance when your stay is done so they can get you on incidental charges you make at restaurants or in your room. But if you follow their cancellation policy properly they will refund your money in full if you cancel in their required period. |

For CGW 2 some people brought the book or the dust cover to identify themselves to the other participants.

I just misinterpreted what cacheborn said, not realizing that he just wanted to delay payment (in case he cancelled).

I'll be attending for the first time. I just found what I was looking for today, which was the Thursday meet-up place. I think I can find that. I was in LV a while back, and I do remember going to Ceasar's Palace. I'm getting into LV around 5:30. I'm staying at the Desert Paradise resort which is NOT on the strip simply becasue I have time-share points I can use, so I only have to pay for one night. Works for me. By the time I get from the airport to the hotel, then back out again, it could be around 7:00 or later. Do you think you guys will still be there then? |

Donna - the meetup has gone from about 6:30pm till midnight in the past, and it's totally drop in by nature so you can show up and leave anytime. So yes, there will be people there at 7pm. Last time we peaked around 8-9pm with 30-40 people. It was quite a party |

I'm in as well. It took a good amount of arse-kicking, but I finally did the math and figured out how to be able to afford it. CGW3 and Flight are already paid for. Accommodation: CouchSurfing (highly recommendable) Looking forward to it. I'm originally from Austria, but live in Berlin, Germany. So Las Vegas is not exactly around the corner. But I'm sure it'll be worth it. |

Long time blog reader, first time workshop attendee here! I've no idea what to expect, but by all reports it should be good. I'll be at that 'pre-match warmup' on Thursday night, I guess it's just a case of turning up and waving Steve's book around to find people? |

I just registered yesterday. SUUUUUPER excited about my first CGW! I don't land until 11:20pm, but I'm at the Imperial. I may head over to see if y'all are still over there, unless someone wants to let me text them after I get checked in, to see if you're still there. Can't wait can't wait can't wait! P.S. Anyone else coming in from Austin? -Miguel |
