I believe this can be extremely beneficial in determining the type of (and how much) value you wish to extract from attending CGW. My purpose (which wasn't even too clearly defined!) was to just have a good time, meet some positive people, and make sure my focus and discipline in life continued to increase to the Next Level. I wasn't there to try to fix any major problems I had been experiencing. Defining your purpose for attending CGW will heavily influence the type of people you end up resonating well with as well as what The Universe will throw out to you. Maybe you want to connect with people who are experiencing what you're experiencing in life right now. Maybe you want to connect with people who have been-there-done-that with whatever you're experiencing. Maybe you just simply want to know that somewhere out there, there is someone just like you and you're not alone. Of course, your defined purpose depends a lot on where you currently are at in life, in terms of consciousness, ability to create reality, etc. The next CGW I attend, I will have a different purpose. I intend to connect with more self-employed/entrepreneur types, because I feel those are the types of people I currently resonate best with (an idea that was brought up to me by Kyle W., a person whom I met @ CGW#2, thanks!). P.S. this all goes hand-in-hand with LoA, manifestation, Universe giving you what you ask, etc etc Last edited by Kevin V; 04-02-2010 at 12:44 AM. |

I agree with defining your purpose for attending, or at least having a reasonable idea of what you want to get out of the workshop. To me, one of the biggest benefits was the connections made. I consider myself quite strong in truth and power, however I have (had! However, I also feel any growth-oriented person would benefit greatly from a workshop, even if they had no idea what to expect or achieve! This workshop will change your life for the better, and now there's even a money back guarantee! (my shameless plug With so many people returning to Vegas to reconnect in person, I am extremely tempted to return myself...and possibly bring some young padawans to the personal development realm with me! |

Thank you for sharing. Meeting other growth oriented entrepreneurs is one of the reasons that I decided on going to the May CGW. I tend to connect best with people of this nature. To be honest, I haven't met many growth oriented in the time that I've been one. I can't imagine that networking with such people would be anything but mutually beneficial. All of the areas covered in the CGW are those that I want to sharpen. As a result, the value I can extract form the workshop is quite substantial. With that, I'm trying to understand how to get the most out of the workshop. I plan on reading PDSP before leaving. I imagine that will maximize my focus at the workshop itself. When there, I plan on participating in the various activities. To take written notes or not to take written notes, that is the question. Also should I leave my laptop at home and disconnect from the rest of the world or not? I've never been to a workshop so I haven't been able to aim yet. Of course, It's Las Vegas and I want to have some fun as well. |

My purpose for attending is to connect with other people who are interested in personal development and to try new things. I would have thought that it was the attitude (being open-minded and engaged) that mattered, considering my purpose for attending may be distinctly different from what the CGW really has to offer. But since you've been before and I haven't I'll take that into consideration. |

There are a few reasons why I want to attend a Conscious Growth Workshop. I guess the primary reason for attending is to gain clarity in my life purpose and direction in life. Another reason for attending is emotional mastery, as I tend to pick up on other people's emotions readily, especially with my family. I want to be more independent in my thinking and financially. I want to live in a sustained state of joy. This brings me to another major reason for attending, and that is being around people who are growth oriented and positive. This will immerse me in such an atmosphere. The social aspect seems to be a major benefit to almost all attendees, and since my social life has always seemed weak, I really look forward to this boost in my life as well. I will attend in July for two reasons. First, my May calendar is already busy, and June will be spent doing some traveling for work. Therefore, the soonest I can attend one of these is in July. Secondly, waiting a little longer to attend a conscious growth workshop will give me time to “grow” a little more, so I can get more out of the experience. Currently, I am re-reading Steve's book. I also need to build up courage to cope with the social resistance that I might generate when I finally tell people I know that I will be going to this workshop. So far, I have not told anyone about it. If I get a lot out of the conference, I may attend a second CGW with updated priorities, as this seems to help. The CGW is the one thing I look forward to most for this year. |

I have told a number of people about my attendance to CGW #3 in May. I have been surprised at the positive response that I have received. Most interesting was when I told a good friend about it. He replied by telling me about the presentation workshop in Las Vegas that he took earlier in his career. He said that it helped him out time and time again throughout his career. Try telling a couple acquaintances about it and watch their response. I think that it will help build your confidence to tell more important people in your life. |

The act of telling people can be a learning experience. I met two random people at a real estate broker's party and told them both about going to the workshop. Guy #1: Reacted positively. Said he had done similar things, and had even paid for a life coach. Guy #2: Reacted negatively. Said it sounded like some crazy event, or some kind of pyramid scheme. Guy #1 is an entrepreneur, trying to figure out how to franchise his successful business. Guy #2 is an employee, having had the same position for 10 or so years. |

Great idea. I have been thinking about what preparation can the participants do so as to maximise the effect of CGW. For me, there are several purposes.
