Hopefully most CGW 2 attendees have signed up by now or will in the next couple of days, so...is anyone interested in playing disc golf in LV Thursday the 14th before the pre-workshop meetup? I get in at 11am and thought an early afternoon round would be fun. I won't have a car, but if someone isn't bringing or renting one I bet we can figure something out. I like to think that walking around on the course is a good way to get to know someone (or even better someones |

Keep in mind that it could be very cold outside. My local friends and I usually take a hiatus from DG this time of year. Today it was about 40 degrees outside, and in January it's usually colder... possibly in the 30s even at noon. So if you do play, be sure to dress warm. Some info on LV disc golf including course maps: Casey's Las Vegas Disc Golf I play at Sunset Park and Mountain Crest Park. Sunset is closer to the Strip, right near the airport. But Mountain Crest is an easier course for beginners with shorter holes and fewer trees and obstacles to worry about. |

Thanks for the (very helpful) info Steve. Why don't we try something like this instead? Las Vegas Indoor Sky Diving |

Alex I thought you were supposed to be from the Frozen North!? The cold doesn't really bother me, but if y'all want to try something different that's fine too. I don't know how interactive indoor skydiving is though. It might be fun to just explore the strip, which would also involve going outside. By the way, is there a Thursday night meet up planned again? I couldn't find anything about it on the main CGW page or the FAQ page. Finally, if there are any holdouts that enjoy frozen fingers, I'm not sunk on this yet |

Thursday night meetup - it's up to us to plan it! What I'd like to see this time is a longer meetup, maybe one that starts at dinner, then moves somewhere with sitting room afterwards. Since CGW 2 will likely be bigger than CGW 1, I don't know if the same venue from last time will suffice (Caesar's Palace shops), since we pretty much overcrowded what little space that coffee shop had. |

I'll be around all day on Thursday and look forward to meeting old and new friends at the meetup on Thursday night! (If you don't have my number and would like to sync up with me during Thursday before that point please send me a PM). Best wishes, Jack

One area that might work well is the conference room area. No food, but no traffic and all the floor space you'll need to sit and chat or mingle around. You could grab some snacks and sit in the hall and chat. It's likely to be extremely quiet in the large hallways. Just go up to workshop room area and you'll see.

I don't know Vegas that well, and I'd like to keep things simple, and open, for now. Suffice it to say, I feel we should: Meet up for dinner somewhere on the strip (any suggestions for a vegan-friendly joint?) Also have an informal meetup a little later much like the one we did last time. We did overwhelm that little coffee shop in Caesar's Palace but there was the whole food court next door, and that has the advantage of people being able to get food. As for disc golf, I am totally still up for it, being crazy as I am, as well as indoor sky-diving. It may be a bit much to do both in the same day, we'll see |

Is there a convenient way for all of the people and prospective events to be posted in one place? I know I am arriving on the 11th and leaving on the 19th. It might be useful for us to have a group calendar with details like this as well as events like the disc golf game, and other activities in one place.

If you want to come I think it would be fine. I'd like to meet other forum members and that includes those who are not attending the CGW2.

Thanks Gene, as long as everyone is OK with it, I would love to go!! As for not taking the workshop, I have a 3 1/2 year old son who is very attached to mommy and I cannot take three days away from him. When he gets older and can handle it, I am all in. But I would love to start meeting all you guys. |
