Default workshop for under-priveliged kids?

Hi,

There is an idea that I have been having for a while, actually ever since I came in contact with the PD Community.

Why not do an (adjusted) workshop on a highschool in a troubled neighbourhood? With children who really need the help or else they will end up on the wrong path. Children who do not think they have a choice in life.

I know this is not the usual audience, and the workshop will have to be adjusted for those who are less far in their development, but the potential outcome can be so much greater!

I´m talking about kids from 16 - 18 more or less, when they are old enough to absorb, and yougn enough to change.

What do you guys think? Would this work and improve the future of these children, or not?

Great idea! I think your Adjustments would result in a complete overhaul, but the idea is sound.

I want to connect with this age range as well, there are all sorts of new issues to deal with...schools, parents, rules... Etc...but the idea is still sound.

For me, I think I am going to start speaking at colleges for a start ...fewer hurdles at that age-level.

Hello ssandra,

I wanted to learn more about what you interest or desire is for working with under privileged kids. What is the Adjustment program. I am new to the site and am wanting to learn more and more.

I have always had a desire to helping youth and was led to your our post.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Sharon

The answer to this question is obvious. The question I would ask is: who's going to take it on? Which area? I think there are lots of things like this for young people; the problem is they are not long-term enough, or they are only for a handful of kids, and there is not enough funding. Of course, no one wants to do it for free.
