Get to know people attending Steve's workshop

Hi Steve and everyone,
I am not sure it is the right place to post but I am gonna do it anyway. Please move this post to its appropriate forum room as you see fit.

My name is Sidney, from Canada. I am attending Steve's workshop this coming October. I am thinking, instead of starting talking to people once I am there, I would like to get to know some of the workshop-goers before hand so that we won't be strangers anymore once we are physically there.

I am so excited:). Can't wait to see all the like-minded people. Have a great day everybody.

Best regards,
Sidney
Toronto, Canada

Great idea!

Hey,

I'm Jeff. Check my "About Yooper" page on the shift your consciousness page in my sig if you want to learn a little bit about me.

I am very much looking forward to making a lot of new friends during the workshop...maybe even creating some a group of long distance close friends.

The workshop seems like a great opportunity to create some great new realationships built on a shared experience.

If you have a blog or an "about me" page somewhere...please share. :D

Hi,
I'm Chris from Minnesota. I'm looking forward to the workshop not only for some "me" time, but also to meet and connect with some like-minded people. And a little bit of fun vacation time as well!
I'm "starting over" at the age of 43 with a new life and a new job. My new website (SBI website! Thanks Steve!) is the beginning of a new direction in my life as well - working hard to "not have a job".
Check out my About Me page on my website listed below my sig for some more info. I'd love to hear from all the other attendees and get to know a little about them as well before the workshop!

Hi! I'll be there. My blog is at erica.biz and I teach people how to get more customers for their business. :)

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi,

I'm Alexandra. I'm coming from Sacramento, CA. I have a website about my store which doesn't really say much about me personally but it gives everyone an idea about my business.

Looking forward to meeting everyone - glad to see another woman, Erica. I've never done anything like this before and I am excited.

The workshop is at 31% women so don't you worry ladies, you won't be alone. Who knows, you might hook up with a highly aware, totally smart, uber-developed guy :)

She's still trying to pimp me out. ;)

Eh, I already have one of those. ;) Bring on the women!

Erin Pavlina 09-21-2009 11:31 PM

Ah look at that men, you've got competition! Erica is on the prowl :)

maybe we'll have time for some speed dating after 5pm each day. ;)

Glad to know people before the workshop.

Steve, Erin,
I just wonder if most people who attend the workshop are couples or singles. My pure curiosity. I am coming with my wife. I am glad you are holding the workshop at Vegas. It is really enticing and even though she is not into PD as much as I am, Vegas does make her come :)
Cheers,
Sidney

You also might even meet Dan Brown *AHEM*
*motions toward Steve*

Erin Pavlina 09-22-2009 04:48 AM

Most of the people who signed up did not sign up together. I think there are maybe 3 couples that I can clearly identify based on having the same last name. I think some people are coming with friends though as some people signed up from the same location just minutes within the other person signing up.

Alexandra L 09-22-2009 01:28 PM

Hi Chris,

I had a thought that someone named Chris might be a woman but I didn't tune in enough before I posted! Visited your website and would like to say that I am now quite sure you are a woman, a woman I want to connect with. I share weight and fitness issues too. I am 55 and have been overweight for most of my life. Looking forward to meeting you.

Sidney (et al),

My wife is tagging along and also NOT attending the workshop...so maybe non-attendees might hang out...if they want to. My wife is pretty social and likes to sight-see and shop...she doesn't gamble much as all...anywho...just a thought.

CHEERS!

Amro 09-22-2009 02:00 PM

Hey guys!

I'll be arriving from the UK to Vegas a day before the workshop starts to explore the city - I'm really excited. If anyone else wants to join me on my adventurous exploration, let me know ;)

And Jeff, on a similar note, I'm looking to build a kick-ass mastermind so that we can support each other's goals/insights/decisions made during the workshop. :D

Just under two weeks left; I'm looking forward to some major growth blitzing.

ctomek 09-22-2009 02:29 PM

Hi Alexandra,
Yes, I'm definitely a woman! I'm looking forward to meeting you too!
In fact, is anyone interested in a meet-up the evening prior to the seminar? I haven't finalized my plans yet due to my crazy work schedule, but I'm PLANNING on arriving a day early. If others are arriving a day early and would like to get together, let's set up a time and a place for casual get together.

GrailSeeker 09-22-2009 07:29 PM

first post here!

Hi everybody,

this is my first post in this forum, and I'm looking forward to meeting you in Las Vegas!! You have one more couple here. We'll fly from Italy and we're sure we'll have an awesome time!

ciao!

Luca

Up for hanging out!

Great ideas for pre-workshop meet ups (YES!), mastermind sessions (YES!), and hanging out after school (YES YES YES)...

...I asked my spousal unit to remain "open minded" about extra after school activities...whatever might happen...

...she just warned me not to drink (TOO MUCH!).

My wife can hang out with Steve...she doesn't drink either.

sqiu 09-23-2009 02:31 AM

Due to our crazy work schedule, we can't arrive in Vegas until Thursday late night. I guess we have to catch you early arrivers on Friday. Other than wanting to watch cirque du soleil KA, we don't have any other plan after the workshop. Maybe a bit gambling for entertainment. Hey we are in Vegas after all.

One suggestion, Steve can setup a separate forum room just for the workshop goers. I am sure we would like to stay in touch. This workshop is going to be exciting.

Cheers,
Sidney

Rachelle 09-25-2009 09:16 AM

Hey all!

I'm Rachelle and I'll be coming to the workshop too! I'm also from Canada. wooooo. haha. This will be my first time in Vegas!

I'm very much up for socializing outside of workshop hours. I'm vegan and something I LOVE to do when traveling is to check out the local vegan restaurants. I'd really love to check out the raw restaurant in Vegas because there isn't one in my city. (For example, I'm considering going to San Fran for a day or two after the workshop because I'd really like to check out the Millennium Restaurant there!! ...if anyone wants to come with me.... ?!)

So yeah, I'm a big food nerd and love socializing around food, such as having potlucks. Would anyone like to host a potluck during the workshop weekend? :D hee hee. (I'm trying to decide if I should book a room somewhere that has a kitchen and dining area! There's this great place I found online, but it's a lot further down Las Vegas Blvd and one would need to drive from there to Harrah's, which I'm told would suck... IS anyone planning on booking an awesome suite right on the strip?)

I was also curious if Steve and Erin were planning to socialize with the workshop attendees outside of workshop hours. :D Because we totally should.

Oh! AND I'm excited to see Cirque du Soleil as well. It'd be great to go together with someone, but I'm used to traveling alone and seeing things by myself as well... Sidney, maybe you'd like to check out Cirque together? :)

Erin Pavlina 09-25-2009 12:55 PM

Although we would love to get a chance to socialize outside the workshop I'm not sure that's going to work out for us. Steve needs to protect his voice and energy in order to handle three days. but we'll see. He might be feeling utterly fantastic!

if anyone has a car, Red Velvet Cafe is the place I recommend. It has vegan food galore and also omni food so anyone can eat there. Vegan bakery items taht are low in fat and calories but also amazingly delicious. It is on Sahara and Buffalo (west of buffalo on the left side of street). RedVelvetCafe:Welcome

Rachelle 09-25-2009 07:23 PM

Well that's totally understandable... hopefully after the workshop on the third day... maybe?

Is anyone planning to stay the Sunday night too?

Thanks for the tip about Red Velvet cafe!

Dukie 09-25-2009 07:37 PM

I'm flying in from Belgium and I'll be there from wednesday till wednesday the week after. I'm totally excited and would love to meet as many of you as I can, before, during and after the workshop! :)

I hope hugs will be standard too :)

Rachelle 09-25-2009 08:24 PM

Seeker5 - thanks! Only thing is, I don't drive. Hopefully some other people would be curious to try out those restaurants too? I'm thinking of maybe renting a bicyle though. But something tells me Vegas wouldn't be a very bike-friendly city and I might get hit by a car and die. lol. ...am I right?

Dukie - I love hugs! :D

Erin Pavlina 09-26-2009 12:01 AM

It's going to be pretty hot still in Vegas. A bike ride through the city in the afternoon could be pretty harsh.

Someone should rent a car or grab a local and make a field trip to Red Velvet Cafe on Monday. By the way, Red Velvet is closed on Sundays!

sqiu 09-26-2009 03:12 AM

Hi Rachelle, great! Glad to see another Canadian there. Of course let's find out about Cirque du Soleil together. We plan to see KA one.

I have a question for the people know Vegas shows well. I can order the show tickets online or may get a coupon from the hotel we will stay. Do you know which way is more economical?

By the way, we are no vegan at all not even close. That will be great if you can take us with you for the vegan experience:). Take care and see you in less than a week!
Sidney

ctomek 09-26-2009 01:58 PM

OK, I've finally made plans and am arriving Thursday morning. If anyone wants to do some exploring Thursday afternoon, let me know!
As far as a pre-seminar meet-up, there's an outdoor bar that is part of Harrah's - I believe it is between Harrah's and the Imperial Palace. It's called Carnaval Court Bar and Grill. If anyone wants to meet there Thursday night around 6:00 or 7:00 pm, let me know as well.
I'm SO looking forward to next week!

Erin Pavlina 09-27-2009 03:27 AM

it could easily be 95-100 degrees even at 6-7pm so maybe think about meeting in doors somewhere :) but up to ya'll.

ctomek 09-27-2009 12:40 PM

Good point. Thanks Erin - any suggestions?

This sounds like a great place/time to meet.

How are we going to know who is a conference attendee?
