Invincible, hmm? I would probably do a few daring things like climb mount everst and then jump off the top or something. I'd probably get back into Bike Trials(flash video warning) and be a lot more aggressive and be ok with making mistakes and falling and stuff cause I couldn't get hurt. BTW, that's not me in the video, I just made hte video. That kid is fantastic. The thought of robberies and stuff briefly crossed my mind, but, really, if it's just that I can't get hurt then it isn't very good, because I'm not especially strong and I'll probably end up running and hiding more than enjoying life. |

Invincible wouldn't be that much fun. Invisible would be a lot more fun.

I would wear the ring myself and try to do good things with it. I'd be open to plenty of advice and teamwork, but I don't think I'd trust anybody else to actually wear the ring. It could be very devestating in the wrong hands. I think there's about four basic answers. You could use it for other people, you could use it for yourself, you could give it someone else, or you could leave it and not have anything to do with it. It just depends on how you feel about power. I guess you could consider destroying it an option, too, since this is all fantasy anyway. Last edited by A.K.Light; 07-10-2007 at 12:04 AM. |

I think I would take my magic ring on a trip to the Middle East and see what I could negotiate over there. I might also try sky-diving.

I'd probably use the ring for a while to attain my own goals and do some dangerous stuff I'd otherwise avoid. After that I'll probably get bored by it (somehow attaining stuff/doing things just for me doesn't cut it for very long) and use it for the greater good.

Hi A.K. Light, I would recommend you read (or re-read) The Lord of the Rings. In a nutshell, you might evolve to see how useful it could be to find an active volcano and toss the ring in before you have experiences like Bilbo Baggins and Frodo. |

I guess it would depend on how the invincibility is bestowed. If the wearer were literally indestructable, it would definitely give him the bravery of a berzerker. He would be able to leap into the midst of a battalion of soldiers fully intent on causing him serious bodily harm, shrugging off blows, bullets, and blades, and just wearing them down until they are all either dead or out of ammunition. He would be able to base-jump without a parachute, landing on his feet, and climbing out of his own impact crater unscathed. Such a person would literally be a monster, because he would have no limits. He could train to the failing point. However, since for him, there is no failing point, he could become a Charles Atlas Triathelete in record time. He could be like a Bugs Bunny cartoon and stick his fist in the barrel of a tank cannon, blowing the tank to smithereens when it tries to shoot him. However, such scenarios are the stuff of fantasy, and would probably never happen outside of a video game. The invincibility would be more likely to manifest as just being insanely lucky. His survival in a certain death situation could be written off as pure chance- a fluke. He probably wouldn't be insanely brave unless he was a madman to begin with. He wouldn't even try to take on an army single-handedly, and if he did find himself in such a situation, he would handle it more like John McClaine than Superman, ending up bloodied and bruised, with plenty of fight left in him, surrounded by a suprisingly large number of dead and wounded adversaries. If he jumped or fell off of a cliff, it would result in our hero being in traction, or perhaps in his very own powered wheelchair, controled by a breathing tube. Such a scenario would be within the realm of probability without resorting to comic book or 'Toon physics. If I were to be made invincible, it would depend on which type it was. If I was Comic Book invinicible, I would keep it secret, and never intentionally use it. Of course, eventually, my secret would be revealed, and I would wind up fighting every spook, two-bit thug, and dictator on the planet, as they all wanted to get hold of the source of my invincibility. Eventually, I would leave such a long trail of bodies that somebody would panic and try to nuke me, if only to keep 'the other guy' from geting hold of me. After that, I'd have to go on the offensive, and try and take over the world, if only to keep the 'mortals' from destroying the place. After all, if I truly were invincible, I might still need the planet in ten-thousand years, and it wouldn't be fun living on a radioactive cinder. If I was 'luck' invincible, I would probably just keep on going about my life as normal. After all, just because I was incredibly lucky, and would probably survive anything that was thrown at me, it wouldn't necessarily follow that I would go out looking for danger. I might eventually become a volunteer firefighter or something like that, but that would be the extent of the changes that it would make in my life. |

I think I would throw it away I don't think we are evolved enough as a human spieces to handle a ring like that, not that we are not a good people capable of good things, it is just that I think we are falable and that is alot of power.... Just ask Frodo:-) |

Could you please explain how it "sounds useless"? I can understanding thinking it's a negative thing and that you wouldn't want to use it for anything, but I don't understand how it sounds useless. Maybe useless to you, but somebody will make a lot happen with it.

Invincibility is the ultimate maintainer of the status quo. Power and usage, on the other hand, are innately things that change the status quo. Thus, the only usage is prevention, whichi is not a use at all, because it does nothing. When I said "negative", I didn't mean "bad" or "evil": I meant that it describes a reverse, like the negative of a photograph. |

Even if it offered comic book invincibility, I don't see myself robbing banks or taking on armies single-handedly or sticking my fist into cannons. I mean... why? I'd save up enough money to get an MD, and go to Africa and do what I could to help people survive the perfectly curable diseases that people die of there. Or maybe just go to teach and work in inner cities in the US, knowing that I couldn't get caught in the middle of something and get shot. In other words, the main thing that holds me back from my dream jobs and helping the people I want to help is fear for my physical welfare. I'm not sure what that says about me. |

You could make one hell of a documentary on the war or other stuff if you didn't have to worry about getting killed. You also wouldn't have to worry about getting assassinated because of your political beliefs like some have. I would imagine that all in all it would be a pain in the ass, because you'd never get to sleep because every secret agency in the world would be trying to steal the ring from you. |

| Maybe it's the old D&D player in me, but magic rings tend to stick to the fingers of the person who is wearing the ring. In addition the rings has to shild himself too, or it wouldn't give you the ability to move through very hot vulkans Quote:

The "Lord of the rings"-ring is the opposite, it gives powers to control other people and things like invisibilty, that you can use to change the world.
