The Observer effect. Ultimately when you 'observe' your online bank statement what is going on? Are you 'observing' "solid reality", (as we've been brought up to believe) that your bank account has 'X' amount and can only have 'X' amounts? OR thru the very act of 'observing'....... are you choosing that your online bank statement has any amount that you decide. 'Strange' and heretical ideas to the masses, but to ones on a deeper path, self evident truths. My continuing and ongoing States of altered Awareness in Seeing What I really am, the "void", make the statements above Crystal Clear. Last edited by infinitethoughts; 06-26-2007 at 05:23 PM. |

Once you have achieved success, you are not mentally the same person that you were when you started... many things have changed along the way... Now, if you want to get in the "success state of mind" you have to know exactly what it is... and you do that by reading biographies of successful people... and, once you know what it is... you emulate it... . |

I had the experience of going from scarcity mentality to the rich mentality. For me it was a slow and conscious process, so I remembered it very well. I can't say I was very good at intentioning financial freedom. I did some, and I had some reasonable luck, but no miraculous lottery wins or real estate deals here. My "secret" is simple. Just a few years of frugal living and ruthless financial discipline, multiplied by careful investing. The interesting moment was when I reached financial independence. I was in my early twenties and I've already reached one of my major goals. Several thoughts or rather verbalized emotions went through my mind and body. One of them was "It works!". I have proved that basic investment rules can be used even in a barbaric environment of young Russian capitalism. The second one, much more powerful feeling was - the fading of fear. Up to that moment, I was sure that I'm a rather enlightened person and have conquered my fears. I have, but only partially. It turned out that there was a constant, background fear in me. I was habituated to it, didn't notice it, like the sound of cooler fan in my computer. And only when the reason for my fear was gone, I've noticed its poison while it was leaving my soul. It was beautiful. I stopped fearing for my future. I stopped fearing my boss and stopped fearing to be fired. I stopped fearing to be a disappointment to my parents and my wife. I suddenly felt a rush of energy that was devoured by these fears forever. I was free. Well getting to this point was hard. But going on from there was much easier. In my experience it is usually the case with PD - once I reach a certain quantum leap, I turn back and can not believe how inexcusably blind and foolish I was. How could I spend YEARS for something that could have been reached in seconds! Oh, well... Back to the rich state of mind. Once found, it stays with me. Now it does not depend on the amount of money that I have. At some points, I did experiments that made me loose financial independence - potentially forever. But I always kept the wealthy state of mind and the wealth always returned. I stopped working for the money and started working for pleasure - something that I didn't do since my second month at a payed job. Ironically, within a month I got promoted, doubled my income, and within half a year, my income tripled again and workload became very close to the ubiquitous four hours a week. And it was not a coincidence. Being free, I could afford to do a better job, to have a strong negotiation position in every argument, to maintain better quality and so to be a more valuable employee, business partner or service provider. I'm sure that if I conquered my fear earlier, I could achieve these results a few years before I actually did. I failed, but got a priceless lesson. I hope that someone who reads this, would learn from my mistakes. Have no fear. If you master you mental state, everything else will follow.

If having money makes you happy and understandably money does make most people happy on some level as it allows for more freedom within our lives and freedom is what we all would like more of, we need to increase our vibration. By increasing our vibration we become happier and the things that make us happy and the events that make us happy come to us more often. Here is an original concept you could consider, Vibrate at the Same Rate as Money, everything in the universe vibrates, that is a scientific fact and like is attracted to like, meaning if money and you are vibrating at the same rate you should be attracted to one another. Sounds weird? Maybe! John Muscular-Fitness |

Unworked-through emotions call for understanding and release. When you think you fear something, what are you really saying? In order to overcome fear, you need to learn why you create this emotion inside. It takes time, but you can learn to recognize you have no real reason to dwell on negative outcomes. You can learn to develop the ability to see positive in everything. Instead of focus on what you lose, consider what you gain. Instead of focus on what you don't have, learn to be grateful for what you do have. Instead of accepting that you failed to reach a goal, remind yourself you may not have been aware of the real goal that is still well within your reach. Open your senses to possibilities you may not have considered before. |

I think, now, I can do it as well, because I had the experience of "not fearing" in my past. If you can find such experience in your past, you can try it as well. Remember, how you felt when you did not fear, then practice recalling this feeling in a neutral or positive setting. Then when you can recall it at will, try to do it in a situation that makes you afraid. For example, while thinking about the situation when you do not have stable income. After some time, you can reach the state when you don't give an f-word about loosing your job. Then scale it back, because you should be fearless but still reasonable.

| There lies the secret for success in one beautiful sentence... it is so beautiful that I want to see it again... "I stopped working for the money and started working for pleasure..." No stress... no fear... simple pleasure... that's when we are at our best... Thanks for sharing that Ilya... . |

I too am trying to overcome scarcity thinking and fear. Right now I need to start implementing all the great things I am reading here. Thats my biggest problem in life, implementation because my mind becomes consumed with doubts that I cant have the life I dream of, that I always have to be weird instead of just being like everyone else. I really want to start believing I can be wealthy, and that being wealthy is not bad. Am I the only one who feels guilty about wanting to be wealthy? Like I am a selfish person. And my version of wealthy is not really impressive just stable, middle class lifestyle, self-employed, house, safe neighborhood, good education for kids, no debt etc. My negative thoughts keep telling me I cant have it , I need to just give up and be like everyone else. Anyway, great thread. |

I have been fortunate enough to acquire a considerable amount of money... however, I never considered that the money was mine... it is simply something that has been put in my care for some time so that I could manage it... That way, I have no fear of losing that money... it's not mine in the first place... I don't feel guilty... I own nothing... I can make some people happy when I give it to someone for things like cars, clothes, jewelry for my wife of whatever... and I get to use those things as much as I want without feeling guilty... because they are not really mine in the first place... they are just on loan until I get rid of them or croak... It's all on adopting a point of view that leaves you off the hook... that's mine and it works for me... . |
