Follow up to previous post but with lyrics

"Leave Out All The Rest" - Linkin Park

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I made

I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
I can't be who you are

`````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````
Into the West - Annie Lennox
Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
Night is falling
You’ve come to journey's end
Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across the distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping
[Chorus]
What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass
Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don't say: «We have come now to the end»
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping
[Chorus]
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West
Lots of good songs on here.
It's interesting to hear how people feel about their funeral and how they can incorporate music into it
i don't want a funeral... i want to be cremated and thrown into the ocean.
and hopefully they'll do something like release a bunch of balloons or butterflies or something pretty... but i can't even think of any music that would be appropriate.
hmmmmmm....i'll have to get back to you on that one.
"Always look on the right side of life" and beethovens 9th (at least part of it)
Though I have no plans on dying right away, I have no plans to live forever either: That way I would never find out what happens when I am dead, and I am much to currius.
Probobly this funny but so smart song from The Ark. Since their lyrics are so important and this song is a message to all people that don't try to live for the day or at least see tiny things beautiful each day.
One Of Us Is Gonna Die Young
Music/Lyrics: Ola Salo
I wanna hold you but you’re out of reach
somewhere searching for your inner peace
I’m just looking for a little squeeze
Face to face and cheek to cheek
It’s in your blood but not in mine
What’s in your blood is in my mind
something’s broken in the way we smile
It is within us all the time
You’re well aquainted with the So- o- o-Ho
And all the ”Ello” and ”Ow are ’u?”
And we both have to get it on before the summer’s gone
We gotta hurry with no worry to get done today
Cause one of us is gonna die young
Let’s put our money where our mouth is and get out today
Cause one of us is gonna die young
Ooh, Ooh, One of us is gonna die young
Ooh, Ooh, One of us is gonna die young
And don’t you take this the wrong way
I’m not looking for a way to replace
what love can give
Cause you can’t do that!
[One Of Us Is Gonna Die Young Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com]
I’m only saying that where I come from
People find it very fashionable
to burn like a flame
Never get tame
Grown-up and lame
Yeah! Yeah!
You’re looking beat but you say: ”no, oh, no, no”
”I’m all messed up and I’m ready to go!
We ain’t gonna go it alone no more
So let’s get on
with the show…”
There’s a lot to be said and to be done today
Cause one of us is gonna die young
Before they put us in a coffin I’ve got things to say
One of us is gonna die young
One of us is gonna die young
Ooh, ooh, one of us is gonna die young
Ooh, ooh, one of us is gonna die young
There’s a lot to be said and to be done today
Cause one of us is gonna die young
We’ll go shim-shim shammey
And get whimsy and get whammy
Cause one of us is gonna die young
One of us is gonna die young
One of us is gonna die young
Love Leelene
I have already posted here, but I want to add another song...
> Savin' Me - Nickelback:
Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you
Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh, I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth savin' me
Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you
These city walls ain't got no love for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh, I scream for you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth savin' me
Hurry I'm fallin'
yeah, yeah
And all I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh, I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin'
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth savin' me
Hurry I'm fallin'
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth savin' me
> And a load of Linkin Park songs...Numb, Breaking the Habit, and In The End in particular....
Not exaclty Funeral Material but still...its MY Funeral!
Well, I plan to live forever, but should anything go amiss, then I want:
Frank Sinatra - I did it my way
But I want the lyrics to speak the truth. If I'm gone and they aren't true, then I want:
The Corrs - Toss the Feathers
Daft Punk- Too Long
Or failing that...
Barbie Girl- Aqua
Something insipid, cheery and repetitive. Anything to make their sadness go away. They can go crazy from such a horrid song choice (I'm known for my bad taste in music), dance, be happy or sing along. The idea of people crying over my dead body makes me feel just a tad bit uncomfortable.
I've never really thought about this but I'd rather my funeral be a celebration of my life rather than a mourning at my passing.
It may sound silly and naive but I would like 'Amazing Grace' on bagpipes, without the lyrics. And I only want it if I have lived a life that was deemed worth enough to have/having(?) my funerals associated with the pictures that come to my mind when I hear 'Amazing Grace' on bagpipes (without the lyrics).
Yes, I'll compose something If I know the time is gonna come. But I wouldn't show it to anyone... surprise, surprise...
in the meantime, the same old guy...
YouTube - Paul McCartney The End of The End
"At the end of the end
It’s the start of a journey
To a much better place
And this wasn’t bad
So a much better place
would have to be special
No need to be sad
On the day that I die, I’d like jokes to be told
And stories of old to be rolled out like carpets
That children have played on
And laid on while listening to stories of old
At the end of the end
It’s the start of a journey
To a much better place
And a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry
(whistling)
On the day that I die, I’d like bells to be rung
And songs that were sung, to be hung out like blankets
That lovers have played on
And laid on while listening to songs that were sung
At the end of the end
It’s the start of a journey
To a much better place
And a much better place
Would have to be special
No reason to cry
No need to be sad
At the end of the end"
How about that song that goes, "Enough is enough is enough, I can't go on I can't go on no more now, Enough is enough, is enough, I want him out, I want him out that door now." I think Donna Summers sings it. Don't know the name of it.
There are at least 2 , and they are totally not funeral songs, but i am anything but normal . Plus thay have major meaning , both with my husband and family. Some songs just make the most wonderful memories.
Groovy Kind of Love, Phil Collins
Cross my Heart , George Strait (more like a wedding song, but seriously it's part of our life sooo much.)
I'm not a big fan, but I like the idea of The Carpenter's song, "We've only just begun." Once we leave these physical bodies, I believe the real fun begins.
Nice to see some Opeth here
I think I would go for one of the following:
Opeth - To Bid You Farewell
Anathema - Inner Silence
Nightingale - I Return
Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem
Vanden Plas - I'm In You
Stereophonics - Maybe Tomorrow
