"I Will Survive" or "It's Rainin' Men." I want my funeral to be light-hearted.

| I was going to say Free Bird, that would be awesome. My favorite though, would be Alive by Pearl Jam. The lyrics would go perfect with a funeral, and that guitar solo would elevate anyone into a higher state of consciousness. Erock

I've always thought of Status Quo, "Whatever you want".. it would be a funny one. But well, I don't know if I'm gonna have a funeral... I wouldn't like too, that's why I would choose that one, to cheer them up and make them go away. Maybe I'll write something like Paul McCartney has done, the difficult thing would be to perform it. :-) |

My favorite suggestion so far in this thread is The Doors - Break on Through. I'm tempted to be sent off with lots of people dancing. Underworld - Cowgirl would do the trick....

| This is the kind of track selection I would choose for a funeral; something upbeat, put a smile on people's faces. Everyone is already in a somber mood. Choosing a sad song would only add to the somberness. The WORST song that someone ever played at a funeral was Radiohead's "How to disappear completely." This is the most depressing song ever. If you just won the lottery and this song played, you'd feel very bad and probably start crying. This song should be banned from all funerals

I think my choice right now is Walk Don't Run by the Ventures. Something about that silly little piece of music that goes right into my bones. It just sounds what my life feels like! Exciting, driven, a little mysterious... Yeah, Walk Don't Run. But ask me again next month. |
