Hey, this is pretty new area for me since i go into P&P area a lot. But i was wondering if it is at any possability to move far out of the U.S. and go into Japan (Mainly Kyoto or Osaka). It has been my dream to move there and become a business translator along with other hobbies and interests like manga writing. I am currently learning Japanese along with improving three other languages i already know (or am fluent) in besides english. Is there any base format i should start in with? I have already made my economy plan and will end up with $10,576 (US) in my savings account to spend freely after i finish college and expenses paid. Is there any way i can make myself known if i make it to Japan? |

As someone who has lived on multiple sides of this planet I would advise you to first go to Kyoto and spend time just living there for a while. Making yourself known there should not be that big an issue, most major Asian cities will have large and active expat communities that can help you navigate the local environment. What you should do first is figure out whether you actually want to live there, from your post I get the feeling that you aren't that well traveled and therefore have little idea about the shock to your system you will get when you the rubber hits the tarmac at Kyoto or Tokyo airport. If this is a incorrect assumption please correct me, in which case I wonder why you don't already know the answer to your own question. So get a tourist visa buy a plane ticket and get your ass to Japan, then you can figure out how to do it and make yourself known. TL Getting over there and making yourself known will not be an issue; figure out if living in a vastly different country and culture works for you. |
