Default Gratitude: Why I love this forum

I was outside earlier eating my breakfast and I started thinking about how much of an impact this forum has had.

Then I was thinking about why this forum works for me and I found a lot of gratitude in my reasoning. Then I decided to post about it!

I love about this forum:

1. >>>A lot of smart people!

2. Majority of people seem to be motivated by their higher self rather than ego.

3. A place to share my own ideas and receive feedback.

4. I learn, learn and learn.

5. Can contribute my value and help others.

6. I will be challenged or called out on my bs if posting any.

7. I've been shown the more authentic nature that we humans posses . We naturally want to connect and help others with problems that we may have already solved.

8. Help arrives relatively quickly. (I feel like I can get help or advice on just about anything here)<<<

I feel like consciousness level of this forum is integrous, so the whole kind of acts as a support network/system for it's members as well as a place to contribute. I'm a part of support groups/fellowships outside of this forum and this site acts as an extention to that, for me.

Do anyone else feel the same/differently? I'm interested to see what others have to say.

I was mulling over the importance of expressing and acknowledging gratitude in life the other day. So you want to know why we love this forum?

1. I love the stories that we share on these forums about our lives, whether they are positive or negative. It offers a minor glimpse into how other people are experiencing the human condition.

2. I love connecting with people that I can share my sense of humor and what insight that I have with. It is a nice feel knowing that you can help someone else or at least make them laugh.

3. I love how these forums have pushed me to take personal responsibility for my life. It might be the number one factor that has had the most impact on my life.

4. I love how these forums pushes and tugs at my self-concept. Even if it feels painful and confusing at times, in the long run, it is usually for the better. I like meeting the challenge and seeing where it will bring me.

5. I love the amount of diversity of ideas and opinions from forum members. Even if I don't agree with everything that is said, at least I have the chance to consider a new perspective.

Absolutely. I'm very grateful for finding this forum, and also for finding it exactly when I did. I had more or less mastered the art of being true to myself while in solitude, and this place is giving me great opportunities to learn the art of being my true self in the company of others online. I guess the next phase will be learning the art of being my true self in the company of others offline, but until then (and perhaps beyond), this place will probably be a fixture in my life.

What a great answer! I can agree with everything on your list, I really like how you put it though.

I think the forum offers growth no matter what situation a person is in. I realized I can always take it to the next level, no matter how far I reach I can stay learning and growing. Thanks for your response!!

I love the fact that NickTunes is here.

Have you ever experimented with a gratitude journal? I was thinking about starting one. It seems like it might help with focussing on the abundance and the positive elements in our lives.

I love all the different ideas here to learn about.

I like having so many people roughly on the same path to support each other.

I like how convenient it is to pop on for a sec when I have a free moment.

I've had my positions challenged so many times I feel invincible to argument.

I love all the free help people offer each other.

It's fun to contribute value to people.

It's nice to have Steve participate in his always consistent "take responsibility" method.

I'm glad there are so many available topics and so many sections, there's always something interesting going on.

I actually started writing a journal entry before going to sleep everyday with the simple prompt, What am I thankful for today?

One thing I have realized in the past 3 days from doing this is that it has really made me conscious of the amount of resourcefulness in life. Try it out for yourself in your own way and see how it works out for you, i know you are pretty creative

Yeah, that's a great practice to get into consistently. Good practice for your thought patterns during the day as well.

I learned a technique where you label all the good things in your life as a gift of love from the universe. It's a pretty interesting variant on the gratitude journal and made me personally appreciate things more when seen as gifts, rather than as just random good things. It made me notice how much the universe really does send my way.

It was suggested to me and I write in it every so often. I feel like all of the ideas I have been exposed to lately are warping my neuropathways and restructuring my whole train of thought. That being said I feel like I will start giving more attention to my gratitude journal during this time of transition, in order to influence my mind's "rebuild."

Btw Zephyrus, I Love the fact that you and everyone else posted in this thread!

NickTunes,
This does seem like a good forum. I'm new here, but I have posted on other forums & have found similar positive aspects, that you mentioned. I especially like what you mentioned about coming from our higher selves, instead of ego. Or at least aknowledging when we do, is good! Nobody's perfect.

I've kept a journal since I could write, & it's very therapeutic. I started a separate gratitude journal, but don't write in it as regularly as I ought to. It is uplifting & encouraging!

I have also started to experiment with grateful thinking and gratitude journal... It totally blew my mind away. I didn't know I can get so happy, so elated, so full of energy in such a short period of time.

What I want to share with you is a technique called - 10 positive thoughts in a row. It's easy. Every time you want to feel better you instantly think on 10 positive things. Try it.

The key to success with this technique is in the sequence. It has to be done without negative thought(s). This mean that you have to repeat it as long as you don't do 10 positive thoughts successively.

Try it
