Default movie character

What is the most movie character you liked and you wished to be like her/him? for me it is "Kathlen Keely" - you've got mail.

The Romulan commander from "The Enterprise Incident"?

...damn, not a movie. Bless you that get why I envy her.

I'm still thinking about this. Interesting thread.

For some reason, I feel closely connected with characters who make prison breaks. I don't want to be them, but I like them.

Andy in Shawshank Redemption, Henry Charrière in Papillon, Count of Monte Cristo.

I saw a fantastic prison escape movie recently called The Next Three Days.

Sort of

Nurse Chapel always liked him one-sidely. Two women he was temporarily with while his brain was being messed with somehow. And the Romulan Commander and he had an affair when he was (mostly--a little Romulan Ale and some orange stuff ) sound headed, as a distraction to her while Captain Kirk was being a spy! I love watching them woo each other. Oh, and there was a bit of flirting with a princess, completely sober, in "The Cloud Minders". It was very uncharacteristic.

There you have it! That is right up my alley!

Otherwise, I want to be rover from 'The Prisoner' (Old TV series, but so what).

I've been thinking about this. There's a ton of movie characters I admire and am inspired by, but none I would really want to be. I do want super powers, though.

Lots of character I adore, and some I relate to...but... I just want to be me. And 'me' is really flexible. The characters I adore, I'd feel too challenged to be. The characters I relate to don't leave enough space for me to start to leave my flaws behind.

I like the real world honestly, because of it's potential for change, and the problems set before me are mine to solve. Why would I want to be transported to a fictional universe...and solve problems already solved by the writers? Explore universes lacking the complexity and ambiguity of our own? Fiction is a vehicle to frame and explore our own universe, paradigms, identities. It doesn't stand on it's own.

If I had to pick one, though, it would probably be Batman.

Obviously mine too.
But really, though, it's a fantastic episode: probably the best in the third season. They could have made that plot into a movie, DC Fontana is an excellent writer, and Nimoy's favorite writer of the series (mine too! ). Well written and well acted, especially by 60s scifi standards.

You know, I'm not really familiar with Cat Woman. I picked Batman cause I'm familiar with the moral dilemmas the character has to face, and I like it. Plus, you know, I also like his particular brand of bad-assery, but that could be said for a lot of characters.

My ego would have a field day if I could pick and choose traits from characters.

I don't really know anything about Cat Woman either. I just remember a scene in one of the older Batman movies where Cat Woman falls out of the window onto the street. Then it seems as if a pack of feral cats start to consume her, and viola!, all of a sudden you have Cat Woman the next day. All very strange and perplexing; precisely the reason why I said Cat Woman.

Besides, I think she is always flirting with Batman. So if you are Batman, I have to be Cat Woman.

Well, as someone already chose Batman I'd say Kong Ming/Zhuge Liang from Red Cliff is my runner up. He's also a historical figure and as I'm in a lazy mood I'll just link the wiki article: Zhuge Liang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scroll down to, "Borrowing of arrows with straw boats" to see why, exactly, I'd want to be like him. Or hell, I'll just quote it:

Quote:
Prior to the Battle of Red Cliffs, Zhuge Liang visited Sun Quan's camp to assist Zhou Yu. Zhou Yu was jealous of Zhuge Liang's talent and felt that Zhuge would become a threat to his lord in future. He assigned Zhuge Liang the task of making 100,000 arrows in ten days or face execution for failure in duties under military law. Zhuge Liang promised that he could complete the mission in three days. With help from Lu Su, Zhuge Liang prepared 20 large boats, each manned by a few soldiers and filled with human-like figures made of straw and hay.

At dawn, when there was a great fog, Zhuge Liang deployed the boats and they sailed towards Cao Cao's camp across the river. He ordered the troops to beat war drums loudly and shout orders to imitate the noise of an attack. Upon hearing the noise, Cao Cao's troops rushed out to engage the enemy, but they were unsure of the enemy's strength, because their vision was obscured by the fog. They fired volleys of arrows towards the sound of the drums and the arrows became stuck in the straw figures. In the meantime, Zhuge Liang was enjoying wine with Lu Su inside the cabin and they returned to camp when the fog cleared. Zhuge Liang acquired more than 100,000 arrows with this ingenious strategy and Zhou Yu had no choice but to let him off.

I do love Clementine. "Guys are always telling me I complete them or something. I'm not going to complete you. I'm just a fu**** up girl lookin for her own peace of mind."

You know, I think I like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as a whole, more than just her. Jim Carrey's character is also great, beautifully understated.

Also, Cado, somehow it's right that you would choose Batman. Awesome story, too.

Yes, Thor

It's pretty good, as a movie. Strange, but entertaining and visually stunning. Good mortal characters, too.

But Loki Totally awesome: has a great understated intelligence throughout the whole thing, and you never know what he's going to do. And as an anti-villian, has tons of internal conflict, and as a result of it is probably one of the most developed characters in it. The actor nails some of the most intense emotional scenes in the whole thing. Not to mention he's just freakin gorgeous. I need the "hot men" thread.

Thats interesting. Does he sire a horse at any point of the movie?
I use to read a lot of Norse mythology (just secondary sources) and I liked Loki. He turns himself into a horse at one point and I think produces an offspring with someone else's horse.

... Thats not the reason why I liked him though.

I'll have to go and see it; I want to see how many other Norse figures show up. For some reason, I thought it would just be Thor.
