Default Dr. Brad Swift's book

I was going to take a look at Brad Swift's book "live life on purpose". Has anyone here worked through the book and did it help you find your life purpose?

I did a few years ago. I don't think it helped me that much at the time. However, I think it's helped some other people a good bit, so go for it. It can't hurt.

Hi Le Roi -- thanks for your candid comment. I'm curious...always curious when I hear that the Life On Purpose Process didn't have the positive effect that it has had for so many other. I'm wondering if you engaged fully in the "Call to Action" assignments that are throughout the book?

If not, I encourage you to go back and give it another try, for it is in completing these assignments that you integrate the Process into your life. That's where the real value lies.

I'll now take my coaching cap off and leave you alone. Enjoy your day.

This is cute , you say something about a book and you get called out by the author i bet Le Roi didn't expect that.

I found the process useful, firstly clearly up all the perceptions about life purpose, than getting rid of my fear purpose to finding my purpose. It took me extra long since i was so chained by my fear purpose to the pointed of thinking i was gonna die if i let it go.

Thumbs up A sign I need to read it!

I already know my life purpose and am living it wonderfully. But based on Steve's post and review, I can take this up a notch by reading this book. Going to Amazon now!

Hi Brad.

I actually don't remember since it was a couple of years ago. I did devote a good bit of time on it and did a number of exercises. I admit that when I read the book, I was kind of in turmoil over what to do next in my life and I was facing hard choices with deadlines looming two months away that I really didn't like at the time, and was in a way, in a good bit of hurry to figure it out. The book didn't seem to help me with these immediate choices I needed to make, so I put it away after a while.

Since I'm in a much better place now, I am intrigued to see if I can find the book and see what I can get out of it this time around.

Heh, while I didn't expect it, it doesn't surprise me. I saw him reply to a friend of mine a few years ago on this forum when she was going through the book.

I went through the book and enjoyed it and came up with:

My life purpose is an expression of
truth, individuality and freedom through
creativity, courage and romance.

I know what this means to me. To me this isn't really enough though. It tells me the things I like that are important. The book may work for you and has very good advice on making the most of your purpose.

I've got Dick Richards - Is your genius at work and find this to be better for me. He works through finding a simple 2 or 3 word phrase in the form of a gerund (-ing word) and noun, that describes your unique genius like 'Digging Deeper' or 'Building Platforms'. I find this easier to work with. Richards says that when you find your genius that it should be a quite profound feeling. The nearest I am at the moment is something like 'Being Useful' but I think it needs some work. The back of the book has several chapters to work through and fill in. It is well written.
