I've spent about the last year and a half thinking. In many ways it's a journey away from Christianity and ignorance, and to my own kind of intellectual and existential peace--reflections of that journey are recorded here, as I really started it about the time I joined. I've spent most of this time pursuing a wide range of extracurricular interests (and a marginal amount of time getting credit for high school), and feel much more equipped to go out in the world and create instead of just getting my bearings. An idea occurred to me today as I was reflecting back on this time period that I think is coming to a close. And that is to write a book journaling my path and it's conclusions. I like the idea, even though talking about it even semi publicly makes it occur to me as sort of arrogant and silly, but apparently I like it enough to talk about it anyway. Even if I never published it, I think I'd get a lot of personal benefit from the additional scrutiny of my ideas and practice of my writing skills. I feel like calling it Life, the Universe, and Everything: One Nerd's Journey to Cure that Niggling Feeling. Okay, okay: working title. |

I think it could be great for you to write a book if thats what you want to do, however I will say this, it's an analogy I used with my friend once (it pissed him off but everything did.) If you drive to California, once you get there do you go back and study every bump in the road you drove over on the way? or do you be in California? You already learned the things you learned from being here, do you need to spend the next two years thinking about and reliving lessons you already learned. That being said writing a book I guess is a new experience in and of itself. |
