Default How well do you know yourself? v. A Q&A Thread

I had this idea yesterday, but never got a chance to make a thread about it. Something happened yesterday somewhere along the line that made me kinda stop and go "wow, I know myself pretty well at this point, don't I?" That was a good feeling because previously, I was unable to "decide" what I really believed or what I really wanted out of life. It was always up in the air for me, and I could never really figure out what layer of BS I wanted to believe.

In any case, I thought this would be a HUGELY interesting thread mainly because I'm gonna ask you a bunch of questions about yourself and I most certainly am looking forward to the answers (or if you can even answer). And it's really just a bunch of questions I had about myself that I eventually came to figure out. So, here ya go...answer the following questions in as much detail as you want:

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?

What is your greatest strength?

What is your greatest weakness?

What is the career choice that best suits you?

What do you want in a relationship partner?

What diet is most suited to you and your body?

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?

I'll stop there for now simply because of the gravity of that list. It took me a good five years to come up with answers to those questions, so they can get very deep. Or, you may just intuitively know what you want out of life and the answers may be very simple. There's no right or wrong answeres here, so go crazy.

I look forward to your responses.

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
To experience, to be

What is your greatest strength?
My strength is my weakness

What is your greatest weakness?
My weakness is my strength

What is the career choice that best suits you?
The one that feels fulfilling

What do you want in a relationship partner?
I want someone who does not need me. If we don't need each other, then why have a relationship? I would not mind experiencing with someone. I would not mind being a temporary safety-net, and I would not mind if they would be mine.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
The one where my body gets all its necessary nutrients, that allows me to keep experiencing.

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
None

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
Surprise me

This one is more difficult... Not because I don't know any strengths but because I wouldn't know which one is the greatest.

Oh, now I know... My greatest strength is the ability to tap into the exact strength that is needed for that exact situation. Or; being flexible.

Quote:
What is your greatest weakness?
Need for approval and positive feedback.

Quote:
What is the career choice that best suits you?
I could do anything that has the following ingredients:

- Brings me joy
- Is very variable (no day is alike, lots of different activities)
- Mainly deciding my own day, my own tasks and the direction of the company

Quote:
What do you want in a relationship partner?
100% acceptance

Quote:

Still figuring out this one, but getting closer and closer to the right answer.
Quote:

You cannot force others to feel joy, but you can help open their eyes to the opportunities that are there for them.

Others can accept me as I am, or reject me as I am. I will no longer hide, change or be someone else to be accepted (or rejected).

Accept others as they are.

Shibaricon: Premier international pansexual annual exhibition and conference

Being a mom

traveling to too many places to mention

Help as many people as possible transform their lives and be aware of their options.

I am a bringer of order. I won't reveal exactly what that means but the most obvious interpretation is part of it-making sense of chaos, putting right what went wrong, etc.

Quote:
What is your greatest strength?
Passion and clarity. I put both because one isn't a strength without the other, not in my case.

Quote:
What is your greatest weakness?
A lack of discipline, rather what underlies it. The latter changes but the former is a constant as I tend to deal with stress (ie, I run away) through indulgence.

Quote:
What is the career choice that best suits you?
Writer, author, coach, game developer, film maker-I'll have my hands in a lot of cookie jars if I develop my potential. I'm a storyteller, and I do it to make sense of the world, to express what usually remains hidden, that sort of thing. Making the secret known-whether it's exposing the truth of someone's potential or relaying meaning through metaphor-is something that deeply excites me.

Quote:
What do you want in a relationship partner?
Unbreakable loyalty; a willingness to work through every challenge so long as I'm doing my part as well. Someone who can create joy in the midst of a storm helps make a blissful household in more pleasant times. She needs to be passionate about something and pursue it with all her heart while still making time for me. I look for someone who goes out of her way to express that I'm important to her. She needs to have an artistic bent whether she draws or writes or sings-or even programs. Anything which expresses a creative urge.

Quote:
What diet is most suited to you and your body?
Slow-carbing works pretty well for me. Gluten seems to be a big no-no unless it's in small doses or it's kept to once a week or less, and meatless just doesn't work based on what I've tried thus far.

Quote:

1. Anything can be changed.

2. What cannot be changed can be utilized.

Actually, there's a lot that can fit under this heading, but that's the core of it. Rather, those are the mechanics underlying anything else I could put here. Were I to add a more poetic spin I'd probably say something like, "I'll take what I deserve and shun everything which stands in the way."

Or if I wanted to be snarky, I'd quote an album title: "I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being the Master"

Quote:
What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
A relationship like I described above.

Peak physical fitness-we're talking a body that could win this.

Absolute discipline with the wisdom necessary to let go when appropriate.

I want to learn japanese and delve into that culture. I want to see the old castles littering europe. I want to see the cities which have retained their uniqueness in the age of concrete.

I want to create something which is beloved by many and reveals truths they don't consciously see. I want to alter this world so that my presence is felt through the rest of time even after my name is forgotten.

I want to experience what it's like to be the kind of man who can pull those things off. Perhaps it could be seen as a copout but life is experienced within, no? Who I am matters far more than what I do, though what I do reveals who I am.

-Exploration
-Experimentation
-Communication
-Freedom
-Mastery
-Power
-Travel
-Fitness
-Parties

-I understand you.

Living all over the world/being completely portable.

Continual learning in subjects that pique my interest.

I don't have much of a 'bucket list' in place. I prefer a blank canvas that I paint as I go. I love spontaneity.

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
To dwell in the presence of God (or Source or whatever you want to call it). This has been my ultimate purpose since I was about 12 y.o.

What is your greatest strength?
Empathy

What is your greatest weakness?
Too much empathy

What is the career choice that best suits you?
Helping....people....animals. Again....this is something that I've felt since I was about 12 y.o.

What do you want in a relationship partner?
To be there for me when I need it.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
My body usually tells me what it needs...so for times I eat stuff that I don't normally eat....at all!! Fruit and milk is what I usually crave.

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
To be open and honest. When I open up I am very open and honest...actually too open and too honest.
Love, forgiveness, compassion.

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
To overcome my fear of being hurt...
and then...
To dwell in the presence of God permanently (so far I've had just glimpses).

x

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?

Something in the realm of healing using different alternative modalities. Helping people to see their potential and enjoy it at its fullest.

What is your greatest strength?

My (calm) strength (mental, physical)

What is your greatest weakness?

Ambivalence about my own beliefs.

What is the career choice that best suits you?

At the moment, since I am at home with the children, my "career" suits me (I make jewelry with semi-precious stones and silver)
(<--- see my avatar)

What do you want in a relationship partner?

Well I have been with my husband for over seven years and I am pleased with our relationship so I'm not "looking for" anything more. This is great.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?

No gluten if possible, green veggies, quinoa, fish (yes, I used to be vegetarian but the fish seems highly beneficial to me AND all the vegan talks on here put me off the idea of trying veganism, ever).

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)

Treat others the way you want to be treated. I always live by this code. Sometimes it makes me bottle up heaps of things though...

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?

A baby daughter who let me sleep at night. Should be possible, just has not happened yet.

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
To help others who are less fortunate. Stand up for "the little guy". Remind people to have a little humility and compassion. Help people see that everyone has intrinsic worth, and that class is all about how you treat others, not how much money you have.

What is your greatest strength?
Perseverance. The ability to always find a way, no matter how big the road block.

What is your greatest weakness?
Trusting others.

What is the career choice that best suits you?
Being self-employed. I don't like people telling me what to do.

What do you want in a relationship partner?
Love, humor, trust, loyalty, kindness, respect. Being a lover of rock/metal music would be a huge plus but it's not a requirement. I tend to like artsy or nerdy girls though, I'm not into the "club scene" types.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
Whatever I feel like. LOL I do avoid eating some things like high fructose corn syrup. I do eat a little but most of the time I stick with products that are made with actual sugar. I try not to eat foods with lots of preservatives.
Just a few basic things I try to avoid...

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
Live and let live. I can't stand people who go around and act like douchebag jerk-offs to everyone. You know, people who talk ♥♥♥♥♥ and start fights for fun. It shows a real lack of maturity and intelligence. Just be cool. It's not hard. LOL

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
I want to travel more. Other than that i can't think of much. I've already done a lot.

I might edit/add to this later. I'm kinda tired right now so this isn't the best i could do. LOL

Be honest
Always go with my gut instinct
Be helpful, kind and friendly

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
To realize my own beliefs and learn full independence to the extent where I can help others achieve great things too. I want to help and heal.

What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength at this moment, is caring for others and experiencing/sharing happiness. I am creative.

What is your greatest weakness?
My greatest weakness, perhaps I do not know this one just yet. Maybe allowing myself to play the victim(Worked on this in the last year and greatly improved to the extent where I don't do it, nearly never). Maybe also to not realize my potential and instill enough self-belief. Emotional situations can affect me and withdraw my energy.

What is the career choice that best suits you?
I think a social counsellor, a life-coach, a friend(), a listener, anything to do with interacting and focusing on others and also using my strengths. I have been told I owuld make a good teacher(not necessarily academically).

What do you want in a relationship partner?
I want someone I can allow myself to love unconditionally, someone I want to understand and who I care enough about to take a journey together. An understanding, exciting individual. Someone who enjoys living life, no matter if it is a struggle, but that they care to go on with it.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
A diet high in fruits and fresh greens and veg. Maybe not too many grains but I eat some for the moment. I think fish suits me, but I do not eat this. Meat also suits me but I don't eat this either. Dairy for definite does not suit me.
And I struggle to go one full day without fruit.

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
To let others live as they are and be available to help them if they reach out - You can not help someone who does not want to be helped. To judge less, but look at circumstances and not indulge in too mcuh hear-say about other humans as a judgement. To change myself and reflect it on my reality so that others will still be different to me(otherwise it would be boring) but also likewise, maybe in values, in my head this makes the most sense, but i find it difficult to put into words. As a clever post here is titled "be the change you want the world to see".

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?

I want to experience rush, True Love, adventure, more laughter, long journeys, lots of free(as in loose plans, although free would be great too ) travel. Make lots of friends or meet lots of people, inspire others, give love. Watch something positive grow.

I could do anything that has the following ingredients:

- Mainly deciding my own day, my own tasks and the direction of the company

100% acceptance

I like this one.

Still figuring out this one, but getting closer and closer to the right answer.

You cannot force others to feel joy, but you can help open their eyes to the opportunities that are there for them.

Others can accept me as I am, or reject me as I am. I will no longer hide, change or be someone else to be accepted (or rejected). I like this too.

Accept others as they are.

Huh-uh, good and important questions I don't really have answers for all of them yet, but let's see...

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
To explore and live the beauty of the world and life itself. I don't really know how will I translate this into an "active" purpose

What is your greatest strength?
I don't know the "greatest", but my strengths are impartiality, curiosity, sense of beauty and harmony, creativity, optimism and zest.

What is your greatest weakness?
I'm very introverted = not a good communicator and usually don't care about other people (born darkworker ), so it's hard for me to think about creating value for others. I really lack persistence and self-discipline. I also can't deal well with monotonity, which amplifies my lack of persistence (I quickly get bored with things).

What is the career choice that best suits you?
I haven't really figured it out yet. Something, that heavily involves creating beautiful things; versatile and creative enough for me to enjoy, and doesn't require me to be around people all day

What do you want in a relationship partner?
To accept and inspire me, to be open, wise and have a positive attitude

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
Needs further exploring I'm currently vegetarian, which is much better than when I was omnivore, but I want to explore veganism and raw foods when I move from my parents

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
Honesty to myself; open eyes for the truth; beauty in the world; oneness with all living beings.

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
- to have a self-supporting life, where I'm not dependent on anyone
- to do what I love and enjoy for work
- to try paragliding
- to travel and explore places all around the world

My greatest strength is to obsess with something for a little bit of time before flying on to the next thing that catches my attention- but I spend enough time on the topic to become a virtual resident expert in it. It's happened before in the past with stuff that I never thought would play a part in my life until they jumped up on me out of the blue (Aviation, Graphics, Cricket, etc.)

I thought a while about this, but I've discovered I can't answer this one. For some odd reason.

I've found on plenty of occasions that I can't stay away from Indian cuisines for very long, so that's where my diet is at!

Being fuss-free, out of any controversies, always workmanlike in the background like the turtle in the turtle & the hair story.

Getting back in form from a dismal last four years would be a great start, thank you very much.

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?

To express my inner genius, my masterful creativity in a way that inspires, moves, enhances, and strengthens others' lives.

What is your greatest strength?

Remarkability. Having confidence in myself when I approach skills I want, the unbelievable power that surges through me when I have them, and the joy and entertainment of individuals shown an expression of that skill.

What is your greatest weakness?

Nervousness with people. Unsureness of myself when I'm being parented; I become irresponsable, but when no parents are around I become this intellectual powerhouse, taking control of my life every which way.

What is the career choice that best suits you?

Artist. I'm a musician, a writer, a drawer... It seems like the best build for me. I enjoy the introverted world, although I can sometimes be great with people.

[B]What do you want in a relationship partner?B]

Creative, intelligent, sexy, lust for learning, music-minded, dreamer, fun-loving, great sense of humor, loves to laugh, loves to travel, never wants to settle (for less, and the same-old-same-old).

What diet is most suited to you and your body?

Full of proteins; steak, seasoned vegetables. I'm not exactly sure what this question is asking.

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)

To enjoy one's self at most times, to laugh everyday, to learn everyday, to become better and stronger everyday, to create everyday. Life is a dream to be lived, a game to be played.

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?

World-wide travel, Acquiring atleast 5 languages, Unrequitted love (sounds good), Genius, Musical Success, Highest Potential of Volition, Grandchildren, IRL Talk with my Mentors, Publishing Success, Online Business Success.

Hey James, think this is alright?

This may sound strange, but how can a person not know themselves? in life, via experience we learn that some phenomenon please us and others do not. Isn't that knowing oneself?

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
- I have yet to think it over, or given it any though, for that matter.

What is your greatest strength?
- A great deal of experience.

What is your greatest weakness?
- A large deal of ignorance due to depriving myself.

What is the career choice that best suits you?
- I'm not sure... I've always thought about some kind of care. I do enjoy helping people, and I get along rather well with children.

What do you want in a relationship partner?
- Someone who's funny, intelligent, creative. Someone whom I can feel no fear about telling things I would hide from others, and one I can love truely.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
- I wouldn't know, but I have felt that meat does a terrible thing to my digestive system. Not sure if it's certain kinds or what though. Still don't have a great answer though.

What is your "code" for living? (not necessarily morals, but more like things that you consistently abide by in your life)
- I grew up having a sort of mix between what I'd read and understood of Bushido and Chivalry, though, I can't be sure how much of that applies anymore. My "code" changes whenever I learn something else that would inspire me to change it.

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
- Psychic ability, transportation, unconditional love, a sense of spirituality, accomplishment.

What is your ultimate, personal, life purpose?
There is only one for now: perfect harmony of body, mind and my environment.

What do you want in a relationship partner?
I am only seeking a romantic relationship, but what do I want from it I can't say, I need more experience.

What diet is most suited to you and your body?
The sunlight diet.

What is your "code" for living?
Noble eightfold path in combination with some thought work of my own. My way of seeing things changes over time so has the code.

What are the things you want to experience in life before you die?
Oh there are plenty, first of all I would like experience the 'now'.

Looks like there was a few questions which didn't have any relevance to me, so I skipped those. Ultimately my life is about spiritual pursuit, so I don't need to bother myself with such petty earthly concerns.
