Well for years, i never really know what to do with my hair. Also, they grew thin on the front head, in the middle and i was always curious how i would look bald. So i pondered about for a week, and today i said to myself, what better way to find out, and build some courage then just do it, and it was done, i looked and it was good. It was alot of work, cutting with scissor, then machine, then shaving but i feel so good right now, feel more manly, it`s just great. So for all out there, who think about going bald for a little while, just try it! |

Awesome! I'm 30 been shaving my head since I was 19. It feels really good compared to having hair. I knew as I got older I would most likely follow the path of my family and lose my hair, so I said what the hell I'll just start shaving it now, and never looked back. The best part is you won't have to worry about losing your hair, because you got rid of it yourself.

Awesome that you feel so great after shaving! I am female and have hip-length hair and I am very attached to it, but I have contemplated shaving from time to time, too, not only out of reason (remove permanent chemical hair colour, get a fresh, clean start and do everthing "right" for my hair in the beginning, as I want to grow it even longer), but also as a act of liberation, a fresh start for me personally, as an outward sign of inner change, like not being the "nice girl" anymore. I probably won't do it, as I said, I love my hair and won't part with something I value so much and that ties greatly into my perception of my own self, to make an outward statement, but shaving can be a very powerful ritual. It's not for nothing monks in different cultures used to get their hair cut or shaven, or keep this custom up to this day. |

There should be an avatar photo now. @ Divajules: Wasn`t to hard actually, guess time was right. @ Scorpio1980: How often do you shave your head, i had already a some hair again, but shaving wasn`t good, tried a new blade, but meh, maybe i can only do it after a few days? @ Fred: I look terrible no matter what, and well, hair grows and you never know what you look like bald ( i didn`t before yesterday). I see your pic in your av now, Kahuna, awesome. It's just hair. It's just good to know how much unnecessary emphasis we place on something so unimportant, LOL! | |

| I used to shave it every day, but lately it's around every 3 days. You should use a 3-4 blade razor. I use mach 3, and it does a very good job. I would also recommend a shaving cream with aloe, without an aluminum base. If desired lanolin which is in some shaving creams will produce a glossy shine. I have at times caught friends looking at themselves on my head like a mirror lol.

I shave my head too. For a while I used the #1 guard on my clippers but now I just do it with no guard. My receding hair line has only receded about 1/2 an inch over the last 10 years, but I have a widows peak so my future baldness got a 10-20 year head start. LOL It doesn't bother me though... I've had short hair all my life. It started with a flat top when I was little back in the 80's, and just got progressively shorter over the years.

I went bald when I was 17 completely. It was radiation treatments on my brain. It also looks like I have a bald spot on the back of my head because of the 64 stitches I had in the back of my head from an extensive brain surgery. But about half my hair came back after radiation. I used to have really thick hair, but now it's pretty thin and falls out easily, but I've learned to accept it. I can always buy a wig, which isn't a bad idea, but I hear they are very itchy. Baldness makes hair maintenance easier, but it isn't a good look for me, seeing I have scars...

I good thing about shaving your hair off is that its revisable and you save on shampoo. its going bald that the hard part but I have so many men freak out when they see balding head like there must be something you can do about that but I have never had a girl complain and when I shaved its like sexy like Yul Brenner. But my Niece did joke and start call me uncle fesstor Scott |

I am slowly loosing my hair. It is about half way back on my head now (maybe not quite half) and I have often thought about just shaving it all off and going completely bald. My wife however, does not fancy the thought of me without hair. I have a big head, big enough to where it is hard to find a baseball cap even that will fit. So does the size of your head make you think twice about getting rid of all the hair? |

I guess, i have a small head, don`t know why, but that`s what i think, when i try on some hats. I was more worried about my head from (egg shape) combined with my obesity and to female attributes in my face. Why don`t you give it a try, you don`t need to do a 30 Day Trial just 1 week or two, and then you can let it grow back. Nothing lost. |

I think you look great, Kahuna. My sweetheart, LOL-man, is also hair-free, and I love the look. Most especially, I prefer the boldness of baldness to hiding the lack of hair with comb-overs and hairpieces, etc., although I understand how a guy would want to keep his noggin warm! Have you tried the Head Blade? |

No, i didn`t try a headblade, i still use mach 3, it gets better though, but never perfect, but i must admit, my face is never that clean either, there is always rest, and my skin is sensitive, even with a fresh blade it`s not all gone, and risk of irritation. I was shoping (well didn`t buy anything) and tried some new clother, some new jackets in which i looked really good, and for the first time feelt a little sexy. Especially some jackets (mantle like, or leather) gave me a more masculin look which smooth out my female outlines in my face (the lips especially) and with the bald head looked good. Maybe i buy one jacket on Monday pitty i havent found a good pullover or similiar. Short version, up to now, bald is manly succesful, althoug some said i should grow it a little, but it seems it will stay that way. |

I'm 23 and have very thin hair, it's been three years since it started coming out (I think stress triggered heredity hair loss early) and it's one of the few things that make me depressed. I might shave it too, this thread is really encouraging and I don't think it would be a bad look for me either, just different. I know people are gonna refer to me as jay-z around here do to similarities though :P |

Jay-Z is famouse, not a bad reference isn`t it? Really, there is just one way to find out, adn that is to do it. I thought about it for years, but never very intensive, but this could be my life circumstance, i just started to get my life a little back last year. I had to go to the barber, but i really dislike to go to the barber, so i got a electric hair cutter from my dad, and did it the other day i think. Cut first (wrote wirst first, ouch) with a sicssor, to thin out, then with the hair cutter and the last step shaving. It said, that most have very bright skin on their had, and it takes 2 weeks till it`s get it taint, so i bought some tainting creme, but i only put it on once. And hey if you really don`t like it, they grow and grow and grow, three days not shaving, and you don`t have a bald anymore. |

| YouTube - You're Bald Started going bald at 16. Really sucked during the 1960's cuz everyone started to grow long hair and mine was too thin. Haven't fared too bad since then, have more hair now than some of my young hairy friends, and it isn't because of ear and nostril hair. |

I started to notice loosing hair around when I was 19-20, was pretty depressed, to loose it so early...well, like my father. Also I got my first grey hair when I was still in highschool (18yrs old). I grew worried more each and every year until like 3-4 years ago - then I started to shave and worries are gone (besides, I have other priorities now than to look how much hair I've got left |

Engage Maybe we should be grateful, that we had to decide to keep the hair or get rid of it, and now reaping the benfites, other will always wonder and live in fear. |
