The Pursuit of Happiness

[Dezarae]

"Dezarae, is that you?" whispered Happiness.
His gaze pierced my soul, filling it full of joy.
I quickly wiped my tears, leaping to my feet.
"It's me!! I am here! Please don't leave!"

Happiness let out a strong hearty laugh, shining and dancing.
I marveled watching in awe at such gentle beauty.

He kissed my lips, explaining in delight,
"From the moment I heard your soul sing, I have searched for you.
I moved mountains thinking you'd be amongst the diamonds there,
Searched for you in the stardust knowing you'd be in their light.
I asked every fish in the sea if you had swam by.
Questioned every grain of sand, every bird in the sky,
Even the sun and the moon!"

Tears of joy flooded my eyes and I shouted,
"But you are perfect! You are stunning!
Why did it take you so long to find me?"

He leaned down to wipe a tear from my cheek.
I basked there in his glow as he proclaimed with laughter,
"My bliss, my darling, my love. It took me so long to find you,
Because I never for a moment expected my bliss to be living
In such meager accomodations where worry is the wallpaper,
Fear is the furniture, and pain the foolish carpet.
I always thought to find your home nestled snugly within a flowers bloom.
My love finally found you when you chose to redecorate!"
