I think I'm just going to bow out of this thread as graciously as I can. Feels like I'm the only English speaker in a bar full of Greeks.

And it sounds like using different words when we already have words that mean the same thing. .

| This is a good question. Currently, being so interested in Ramana Maharshi as I am, I would respond by saying, "Exactly!" Otherwise, and just being Who I am at this point, I can only respond by saying that I am Who I am. It is you who seek definitions and qualities. |

| No...I'm not sure how you concluded that from what I said? lol, sorry. Okay, let's say I'm all jazzed up writing a new song. I'm writing frantically in my notebook, scribbling lyrics, trying out different melodies, thinking of rhyming words. Singing out syllables to get the feel of where the song wants to go, what vowels it wants in it. In those moments, I am being Imagination. And if you wanted to take it one step further, let's say instead of songwriting on my own, I'm playing guitar in a big group jam. I play one riff, which the keyboardist picks up and tweaks. The drummer feels the rhythm of my riff and adjusts his beat. In those moments, we are all being Imagination for each other, each of us generating Imagination for ourselves AND for each other. Is this the only way to generate Imagination? No, of course not, but this is how I've defined it for myself. You don't *need* to align yourself with the intellectual concept in order to hear the music, but it can be helpful in a defining-your-values and consciously focusing on them sort of way. |

I suppose that I could add that awareness of what I am may expand. But What I am never changes. I also suppose that I could add that What I am is What you are, What All is. That's Oneness, to me--One Reality, One Self. I'll also add that I've enjoyed your questions thoroughly. Just wanted to say that before I bow out.

This is one of the reasons why I and so many others enjoy simply listening to music, and why I so greatly admire you for your talent--because it is a pure, unadulterated, untainted expression of Who You are, regardless of what concept you want to ascribe to it. And Who I am connects with that, and shares in the beauty and joy of that. Values are another issue, entirely, and I fear that I may have already derailed this thread, so again, I'll bid aux revoir from it.

Well, even though you may not see this, I'll respond in case anyone else is interested in the exchange. I don't think there's any conflict here between what you're saying and what Angela/James/me are saying. You make a good point that Beauty and Creativity are also being expressed (and thanks for the compliments), but there's no rule that says you can't be a stand for multiple things at once! The concept isn't limiting at all, for me, but no worries if it doesn't work for you. I think you do understand what we're saying, in your own way.

Seems you've got a pretty zoomed out focus going on there. Who You Are is All There Is. Kind of reminds me of the concepts presented in Conversations With God in a way. Me? I like to zoom out and zoom in at different times. Sometimes I like to touch the oneness of everything (which seems to open up compassion and empathy and understanding in me), and other times I like to zoom in on a particular focus, which gives me a different experience...a more *focused* experience through which I can experiently explore myself. I like the zoom zoom zoom (and the boom boom boom nowt hat I think about it...*winkey face to all teh ladiez*

James, I think you may have nailed the struggle Solipsist sometimes does with some of the things I say: he's often looking at my relatively chunked-down descriptions through a very chunked-up lens, and so of course it befuddles him. It's like trying to read a book while wearing your distance glasses, or trying to follow a movie through your reading glasses. |

Chunking up means moving to a broader, higher, or bigger perspective, more towards the abstract, and chunking down means moving to a narrower, lower, or smaller perspective, more towards the details. So, if I'm thinking about, oh, first thing that pops into my head is a movie: if I were to chunk up, it would be to: movie>entertainment>fun>joy. (Joy is pretty much as chunked up as I get, but each person's higher perspective is personal, so someone may chunk right up to God. That's the source of my joke about "One Chunk Up to God" -- someone who chunks up quickly might go: movie>God. And if I were to chunk down, it might be: movie>Inception>symbols>that little top thingy. It can also mean chunking up/down on meanings: like, what's the meaning of my work? A chunked down meaning might be money, and a chunked up meaning might be contribution. Chunked up or chunked down, they're all aspects of the truth, but sometimes understanding what another person is saying (or making yourself understood) can involve shifting perspective on it. Sometimes being too focused on the details (chunked down) can result in overwhelm and it's helpful to chunk up, and sometimes being too focused on the abstractions can result in befuddlement and it can be helpful to chunk down. See what I mean?
