For getting to meet three beautiful turkeys and share a vegan feast with them and a host of other rescued animals.

For my friendly coworkers. And our friendly customers.

For having a nice place to live.

The city.

Friends.

And a million other things. I should make a list that goes on forever.

I think the fact that this thread got 2 replies speaks for itself. People are becoming more and more consumed with what they don't have instead of showing gratitude. The irony is that no matter what your situation, giving thanks will bring you peace and silence longing.

At the most basic level, I am grateful for having a warm place to lay my head with the recent cold nights. I routinely remind myself that such things as food and shelter are not to be taken for granted.

Default Experience

I always thanks for every process and actions that earn myself experience. Result sometimes is second after what I learn and what I gain within it.
Result just awhile, but experience can lead you to more.

Well put Chris. It amazes me how people focus on what they don't have as to compared to what they already have.

I am thankful for all of the opportunities I have. I realize that not every has the same opportunities. And I have been fortunate to have a lot of them.

I am also thankful for friends and family, because the best moments in life are rarely when you are alone.

Finally, I also think that you should not just pause and reflect what you are thankful for around the holidays. You should be thankful for what you have all the time! Cheers!

Don't use the small amount of replies on a forum thread to determine how grateful the human race is on a whole.

I am grateful for:

The sun (when it's shining) :-)

That I found out about natural hygiene (and I can prevent now getting the flu)

That I found stevepavlina.com (had such a great impact on how I live my life)

...and many more things.

once you have your health and strength you have a lot to be thankful for. It is only when you lose it do you realise how blessed you are when you have it...

I am grateful for my family, specially for my wonderful mother and her love.

I`m grateful for having the most wonderful partner in the world.

I`m grateful that a lot of obstacles in my life have gone away...things that I at some point thought I would never overcome. Magically somehow things have sorted out.

I am also grateful for being here and witnessing the wonderful miracles of nature I encounter every day. The sparklying snow, the setting sun, the tomtits eating sunflower seeds behind my kitchen window. Sometimes I think that even if all else fails, I have at least seen the amazing work of nature and can die a happy woman

And I`m grateful for being able to walk, lol. Just a few moments ago when I was doing the dishes my mind drifted back to the time when I sprained my ankle and had to wear a cast. I hate being immobile, it was so very fustraiting to be unable to move freely... I know that there are a lot of people who cant walk, I wonder how they manage it... so, I`m grateful for being able to move. After this post I will take a long walk to the grocery store instead of taking my car, and marble in the feeling.

I'm thankful that we are able to heal ourselves for most minor injuries/illnesses. I am thankful for the Bible and prayer as a way to know God and his will for our lives. I'm thankful for passions to steer and guide me. I'm thankful for my friends and family, especially my newborn son. I'm thankful for the freedoms I have.

Default self-pity

I am grateful for a mental disorder which obsessed me with understanding myself.
I am grateful for the insanity that developed before I (thot I) gave up on (understanding) myself. Misunderstanding/hating/imagining myself to annihilate in my hopes and dreams, not to mention prayers, I finally realized I couldn't die, even if /just because I (thot I) wanted to.
Feeling sorry for myself because I (thot I) couldn't die, I saw Self-Pity for who she is(in me!).
I am grateful I caught self-pity at work in me before she killed me!
I am grateful simple awareness of her at work in me disables her self-collapse.

I am Grateful for each new day I recieve/create for myself, to share how a life of self-hatred finally shewed me my Subjectivity; only then could I free myself to express my true Objectivity.
I'm grateful I learned to meditate on gratitude.

Being able to go to sleep and wake up when my body tells me.
Not having to set an alarm clock.
Having spare time to focus on building relationships.

Amen! There is another thread in the IM section entirely dedicated to this very subject and it's got a lot of pages Today I am grateful for....

I'm grateful, that my 1 month fog is lifting, and I know that everything is going to work out great.

I am grateful that I can sleep in when I want

I am grateful that I have been able to develop ideas and see them grow

I am grateful that I don't have to deal with work dramas

I am grateful that I am able to explore and try and understand life

I am grateful that I learn new things about the way I think and how I can change my limiting beliefs

I am grateful I never got married and had kids Not saying I don't ever want kids, but just grateful I didn't have them when I was younger

I am grateful that I got an opportunity to work with children (with no experience) for a few years to see if I truly loved being around children. I do
But I am also grateful that it's time to let working with children go, I now know I am great around children, and have no fear of becoming a mother one day

I am grateful the LOA works for me, especially with manifesting having positive environments (and car spaces - he he)

Default Self-centeredness

If my self awareness is in any way acute, I owe it to the self centeredness and excessive self-absorption that has driven me thru bipolar mania. I apologize for my apparent mania, but my self-centeredness I would rather try to explain my way out of!
I believe we all are excessively self motivated, and this is what separates us from our Source. What I really mean here is that my self centeredness is a behavioral phenomena that is a left-over from my reptilian ancestry. I have just now evolved to understand how this behavior has driven my mental illness thru excessive self pity to states of collapse where I attempted suicide. Several times.
But I think excessive no longer necessary survival behaviors are what, as a christian mystic, I call sin.
But a better name is lizard-brain. It means my amygdala is flipped. Firing in reverse. I call it inverted consciousness, when one's emotions rule their thots and behaviour. Cortical submision to our jollies will folly out our trollies.

I am thankful for a home.
I am thankful for the food that I eat, the bed that I sleep in.
I am thankful for love.
I am thankful for the few true friends I have.
I am thankful for family.
I am thankful for my body. (Meaning, I can see, hear, walk, and talk.)

I am thankful that I can take a deep breath and feel the cool air rushing into my lungs.

If you want to have that feeling, get yourself a cold with your nose blocked for a week. Of course, if you can feel it without the cold, so much the better.
