I would like to start a thread where people talk about people who left a real impression on them and why. I have personally had just as many people who I can barely remember their face leave a lasting impression on me as those who I've known for years. To give an example, I remember an old lady who took the time to explain why I shouldn't lie when I was about 8 years old. To this day, her words are engraved in my mind.

I have a Desktop wallpaper that is a collage of my SuperHeroes. It has, - Mahatma Gandhi - I consider him as a prototype version of Steve - Swami Vivekananda - My Spiritual Hero, who lightened up my Childhood. A man of Courage, Wisdom and Character. - Bruce Lee - A Martial Artist cum Philosopher. Epitome of human potential Exploitation!! - Arnold Schwarzenegger - Objectively speaking, he is the man who has achieved the most in this World in all the times according to me!!! His life is the example PD gurus can use to teach their stuff. - George Carlin - (minus his Profanity) is an awesome Speaker whose Voice Modulation and Body Language and most importantly Creativity I admire the most. - Steve - Of course!! - John Assaraf - I want to be as good as him in Manifesting Intentions!! - Andrew Carnegie - For mentoring Napolean Hill and starting a phenomenon called PD!! - Jackie Chan - His Creativity is simply mind Blowing!! Checkout a 10 video series in Youtube about his various Fight Choreography techniques and how he gets his ideas - Muhammad Ali - He's Cocky, Arrogant, Awesome and a great man as his book "The Soul of a Butterfly" reveals. - My Dad !! - For his rags to RICHES story! |

To be honest, and a little emo here, my biggest hero would have to say myself. My life was impossible. It was IMPOSSIBLE! I had every clever way of thinking why my life sucked way more then everyone's, and I had those no brainer obvious facts that made my life just down right impossible. I don't talk much about the things that happened then. They're back in the past. Every time I read a book or story about struggling or about hardship, I felt sorry for them. Sorry because they had no idea. At the end of the day I had every clever way to think why I was better than everyone else, and why I should be happy. When I first got a myspace back when I was 15, I remember thinking up this one quote that I made up and I've never took it off. It's on my facebook and yeah, I think it sums up everything. "Heroes are for the uncreative." |

I have a couple... Grade 1 teacher - I came to class crying because I found out I needed an ear operation in the summer. She told me she would visit me in the hospital and she did. Gail - My first provincial team field hockey coach. After the team was picked she said those who are fit will play at the nationals. I was one of the two youngest on the team and was the most undeveloped skill-wise. I followed her training regimen to a T. I rarely got to play during the practice games but when we got to nationals, she started me in the 1st game. I was not the only one who was surprised. There were players who were much better than I but they didn't do the training! I ended up playing every game! Then there are the people like: - Terry Fox - attempted to run across Canada on a prosthetic leg in 1980 and raise money for cancer research. 30 years later his foundation is still raising money. - Rick Hansen - wheeled around the world and increased awareness of people with disabilities - The Hoyts - father-son team who compete in triathlons/marathons. Since Rick is in a motorized wheelchair, Dick (the dad) has to pull him in a dingy (during the swim), ride with Rick in a special seat near the handlears, and push him in a special chair during the runs. Absolutely inspiring. |

My parents are on my list of heroes because they put up with teenaged me when even I couldn't stand myself. I also have immense respect for anyone who is very good at what they do, even if the activity doesn't appeal to me in the least. |

Luke Skywalker - Yeah, I know, he's not real. But come on, he was a regular farm-kid who was brought into a situation way over his head, and he rose to the occasion with gusto. Martin Scorsese - His works inspired me to get into photography and cinematography, not to mention imprinted themselves into my brain. Cado - Okay, I can't say he's an INSPIRATION, more like an influence. It's not an understatement to say that I wouldn't be who I am without good ol' Cado. |
