Years Ago I've started reading self improvement and personal development stuff, I've read a lot of books, a lot of articles, watched many videos and listened to a huge amount of podcasts and audiotapes. I started investing money in more bigger courses that promise me the *solution* to my problems, but then I discovered that I already knew the information that it contains, even more, I knew much much more informations ! I was frustrated, Then I started feeling bad about myself, I didn't know why I have all the knowledge I didn’t need more but I was waiting for *the magic bullet*. And you know, I finally discovered the *real* Key. It was a simple and stupid thing so simple that I sayed to myself "Why do you waited for so long time ?" The secret, the key, was Action !!!! Yes Actions, Actions and again actions, doing massive actions it was the key to my pain, to my problems, the key to beat my bad feelings and Hopefully I started taking actions. The knowledge I had was an energy that become more and more bigger and that wanted to leave my body and mind, The more I wasn't taking action I was keeping this energy on my inner self, and it was getting bigger and bigger, this energy started to heart me, started to heart my inner self, my confidence, my self-esteem. The only way I had to make it leave my inner was actions ! I understood that even with the whole knowledge and informations of the world without practice and actions, this informations and knowledge will have no effect on my life, if it's not make it worst. It reminds me of an interview between sean stephenson and eden pagan ( two great people and source of inspiration for me) Eden Asked Sean "Sean Tell me when do you learn something" sean answered "When You memorise it very well", Then Eden replies" No, It's when you try it and experience it and take actions and start use it and practice it, this is when you learn it". Start taking actions, start exercising, stop searching for the best program to loss weight or to start meditating or speaking to women ! find something and try it and implement it see what was your mistakes, then see how to solve them, don't search for a long time. Take action. In physics there is a principle called "causality principle", nothing in the world can happen if there is no action that makes it happen, no attraction law or kind of thing will bring to you the success and the transformation you want in your life. Only your actions will give you results. That's the best lesson I've learned in my life. Finally I would like to share with you two quotes that motivates me and that are closely related to the subject of Actions The first one is by jim Rohn: *) "How long should you try? Until You win" And The second one is by Woody Hayes: *) "Paralyze resistance with persistance" Thanks To Everyone who read those lines till the end, remember, what's going to change your life isn't not how much you know, but how much you do ! 90% of success is just showing up. Not following through with your plans leaves them completely negated. The real benefit of therapy or PD is to help you realize the infinite strength within you. The strength to persevere, to understand, to believe in yourself. There is no shortcut to this. Unfortunately, too many people discover PD with the mindset that there is some magical secret that they have been missing all along. With this mindset you are setting yourself up for nothing but disappointment. It almost makes me want to write a book that has 1 page that says nothing but "Believe in yourself and never give up under any circumstances". Some people need something like this to stop making excuses for sifting through endless amounts of information without acting on what they learn. Conquer your fears and toss the excuses in the garbage.

I just saw a motivational speech by Darren LaCroix. He says, - Take one step, one small step at a time towards whatever you desire to achieve. - Be prepared to fall on your face while attempting to do something different that would take you to your destination. - When you fall down due to failure, make sure you fall forward. That itself would be a step forward that takes you close to your Aim. The last point, he demonstrated beautifully by literally falling forward over his face and then when he stood up, he said "When you get up, NOTICE that you HAVE made an actual process", referring to the place he was standing before and after the fall!!! It was fantastic and hit the spot directly!! I don't have the link. But it's there in Youtube. Find it and favourite it!! |

I remember reading a blog post by Freestyle Mind and I too wrote a post about it a few days ago. We've been guided in and out of textbooks thinking that it's the one and only way to learn, but in truth, people should learn by discovery. I put a lot of emphasis on this idea, because people honestly do think that reading a book about "the way of the superior man" will make you superior. If you were so superior, why would you be reading a book about it? The book itself really just puts you in your prescribed weaker being and tells you to look up to other people. If you want a great life, you need to go out and grab it. You can't keep reading about it. Go kick it in the butt! |

"Stopping thinking" is not a pre-requisite to "taking action." (The two are not mutually exclusive.) After years of thinking that it had to be one or the other, I've come to discover that I can do both simultaneously. My new motto is: Think more AND take more action! I love that I can read and read and read and do and do and do all the same time. I love that I can obsess obsess obsess and move move move. I love that I can write and write and write and read read read and do do do. (Keke, I said "dodo". |

Thank you for this post. Action is important. This has been a reoccuring theme in my life for the last two months. I have been in a place of being motivated to move forward with great enthusiasm and motivation to spells of I am not sure what I am doing or what I am going to do. I have worked in nonprofits for all my career and realize that in the field that I have worked people come from a place of great scarcity. I have always tried to be very creative in the work that I have done, because whenever we wanted to do something the response was "there is no money." There was never any money, to do anything. As I branch out of the field and am looking for financial freedom, I am realizing that this limiting belief is a part of the journey. I am being drawn to the internet as a way of connecting with others and creating abundance. I also realize that the more I am on sites about creating businesses online, I know little about SEO, affiliates, traffic, web design, etc.... Any advice on making this shift. My work has been primarily in working with foster kids, and training foster parents. In addition, I have a great desire to know my true self and have spent several years, studying to develop myself spiritually. I have a desire to expand and am looking for guidance of ways to develop financially, while making a difference in the lives of others. Sharon |

I've been thinking a bit lately about ideality and actuality or thought and action. I think I create difficulties for myself with my idealistic tendencies. Or you could say, I think too much. Thoughts, ideas can easily become ideals and expectations. I then try to bring about these in actuality or in action but, being ideals, they do not come about in actuality. Even the epiphany or advice that says 'just do it', 'take action' is a thought, and ideal. There is, in actuality or in action, no 'just doing it'. There isn't even 'the actual doing of it'. I don't believe we can speak of action at all. All of this talk remains only thought. Well, typed thought. But yet even little actions like using certain words, choosing colours, doing one task before another, going out at the right time, and so on seem to involve thought so much. The potential to get drawn into the inner world of thought beyond what might be required in the outer world of actuality, is awesome. And at some point after years of thoughts, ideas, ideals and expectations, the realisation can come that the only way forward is to just do it. |

"Expectation is a recipe for disappointment..." But many of us still have expectations for ourselves, don't we? I seem to have gotten to a place where I am still "thinking" a lot about what I NEED to do or SHOULD do or EXPECT myself to do (I've also heard the term "analysis paralysis" used!) It hasn't been a sudden insight or epiphany - it just kind of happened like: "Ok, It's time." and I just began acting on my thoughts and ideas. It is possible that my continued affirmations helped kick me into this action... They are very powerful, and they are now very well seated in my heart and being. But the thing that is for certain: I'm still "thinking" a lot - but for some reason, I'm now taking the action necessary for me to progress. Hmmm. I think I need to give this a bit more thought. While taking action is all good, you must be ready for it. You grow as a person partly because you read PD and mature through it. | |
