After toying around with my blog for a couple of months I have finally found my purpose: writing about lifestyle design and sharing my journey from professional military officer (13 yrs) to lifestyle design entrepreneur. Changing my paradigm to living life by my own design has come as an epiphany to me and now I want to create a valuable information resource that helps others live life by their own design. If you subscribe to the idea of lifestyle design, I would love to hear your experiences as I start my own journey towards living the life of my own design. Any tips, resources, success stories etc would be great to hear to help me on my own journey. |

Wow! Lifestyle Design Entrepreneur. That's an exciting job description! Me likey your blog very much so far. As I offered to someone else here, I don't think you have to be an expert to have a successful blog, as long as your journey is fascinating and inspiring enough to draw eyeballs, and you certainly have the passion. I don't know if it's just my PC but your Home, About, etc titles obscures your first name. I didn't notice the message in the bottle until you pointed it out; the drawing of the bottle floating in water doesn't really pop, or match the level of positive enthusiasm you have. Maybe a photo of champagne spraying out of the bottle? Now I have to go look at the other blogs you linked to. They look very interesting also. |

Hi Brenton- What do you mean by 'lifestyle design?' Is this the same as life creation in the IM/LoA sense? edit: Nevermind, I just read the definition by Justin Wright that you linked to. Very similar. Congrats on your decision, btw. Last edited by kungfoucault; 11-06-2010 at 02:53 AM. |

Tim Ferriss would be my favorite lifestyle designer, you probably heard of him, if not, look up his blog if you like. He also has a book (which is quite good, but not too useful for me) and another one coming out soon (which will probably be quite useful to me). |

@Lioness - Thanks for your great feedback. I really appreciate it! Thanks also for letting me know about the nav menu. I am now in the process of fixing it. @Lanternista - Thanks for your comments. I have read Tim Ferriss' 4 Hour Work Week and found the concepts quite interesting. Thanks for directing me to his website too. Looks like lots of good info, just got to get past the self promotion If anyone else has any more feedback or suggestions I'd love to hear it! |

I just started reading Advanced Riskology by Tyler Tervooren and he spends a lot of time talking about moving out of your parents house and taking risks. There's stuff that's strictly travel, Brandon James from News Life Travel and Kate from Adventurous Kate. There's also a million sites I could tell you that help people make a living off blogging which is also considered lifestyle design blogging. Me, I'm the author of The Titan Project. My lifestyle design is focused on social interactions and the philosophy behind relationships. It's hard for my blog to not just be about intimate relationships. It took me awhile to find out what aspect of lifestyle design I wanted to give myself an edge on. I first started with a personal blog, then tried to find my niche that was lifestyle design, and then I figured out what aspect of that I could expand on the most. If you need help on blogging, figuring out how to market your blog, or need any great resources, do ask. My mailbox is always open Hope to see you out there. Hey Brenton, congrats on finding something to be passionate about! If you keep it fun and exciting lots of good things can come out of it! I just browsed through really quickly and it looks like you already have a good amount of content. You've passed that first hump, so just keep going! Bricona offered a great list of resources that you should check into. I highly recommend reading other people's blogs, leaving comments, retweeting those people's articles, e-mailing them, and beginning to form meaningful relationships. I've been blogging for about a year and a half now and I wish I knew to do those things sooner! Also, Bricona, out of all those Advanced Riskology is my favorite! Tyler is a bold mind. |

Plus he lived in a car when he was 18. I can totally relate to him. He's pretty genuine. | |
