Question Ideas for a 3 month challenge

Hi,

A friend of mine have challenged me.

Within the next 3 months, both of us have to do something that is totally new for us.

She's gonna run 5 kilometers in less than 25 minutes, but what am I gonna do?

My mind is totally blank, so please help me with some ideas.

A little bit about me: I'm 35 with wife and 2 small children. I run my own internet business from home, do a lot of sports and try to be a bit of a minimalist.

Thanks,
Mads

Learn a new sport from scratch and get to a good standard. For example, you could learn to ice skate or ski. Or get a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. That's probably a 6-9 month idea though (if you're committed). The point is to go from zero to hero.

You could learn the basics of a foreign language.

You could get your bench (press) up to 250 pounds.

You could mediate every day, or do yoga.

C'mon mate, surely you can think of at least 100 ideas

This may sound extravagant, but it's my suggestion to you:

Double your income.

Whatever you currently make in your online business in 3 months, find a way to double it! Don't focus right now on HOW it's going to happen; make a decision that you're going to do it, and then later on the HOW will come to you. Then, take action.

Regardless of what you do end up choosing to do, do something that will force your current self to improve. Life should be a continual process to improve oneself to become better than they ever were before. Three months is a substantial amount of time! Create, market and sell 6 new products; train to run a marathon at the end; lose 30 pounds. Anything's possible -- you just have to make your mind up to do it.

Pick a goal that you're passionate about making happen, then make a commitment that you're going to do whatever is required to fulfill your fantasy!

To Your Success,
Matthew Cluff

The double my income have cross my mind, but problem is that money doesn't motivate me.

I already make more than I ever though possible, so don't really care about doubling my income (even though it might a smart thing to do in order to build up enough savings for the rest of my life).

But otherwise I agree. It's all about being passionate and setting ones mind to it.

To be honest, I don't think that the accumulation of money in and of itself would motivate anyone to get the money. The real burning factor to any goal involving money would be this: Why do they want to ultimately use the money for?

Take a look at all of the material possessions that you have or could have in your life; take a look at all of the possibilities of what money could buy you. Maybe you want to build up the time and money to take a 1-2 month vacation? Maybe you want to buy a new car or get a new home?

If you think of something that you could get with money (that you currently can't acquire with your income), that would serve as great motivation to push yourself forward to make the amount of money required to fulfill your fantasy.

To Your Success,
Matthew Cluff

Sounds like you're successful in terms of career, finances, health and relationships. How about creating art? You could learn to draw, write, paint or play a musical instrument. Is there a community college near you? Many of them offer beginner courses in these areas, and I believe the average length is twelve weeks (a semester), which fits neatly into your three month time-line.

I like the creative idea.
How about creating a project that involves you and your kids?
Maybe creating a book, designing and building a tree house, help your kids develop a skill by taking a class with them?

I have started. Been out in icy waters 3-4 times. It's cold, but nowhere as horrible as I thought it would be.

How do you find this goal motivates you? It doesn't seem to me to be a particularly measurable goal (which the best goals usually are ). I mean, if you were aiming to stay in the water for X amount of time, or swim X amount of distance that'd be measurable

I think it's easy to measure:
1) Have do go ice swimming at least once a week.
2) Have to stay in the water for at least 30 seconds.
3) Have to get my head under water.

I guess what I mean is... there's not really a lot of growth in that! Your friend has a goal that she can build on... she's aiming for something very specific - she wants to be able to run 5km in 25 minutes...this is probably something she has to work towards and build up to.

If you do yours just once...well you've done it! I mean, okay you haven't done it for three months... but you've shown that you CAN do it.

Whereas if your goal was to stay in for like 5 minutes by the end of the time (I have NO IDEA how cold it is or how possible it would be to do that btw) it's showing that you've improved on how you were at the start, if you couldn't do that

Yeah if I would be trying something completely out of my comfort zone, I would be doing something quite alternative to what I normally would do, but in a small way though.

Like maybe making the effort to laugh for 10 minutes, and then journal at the end of the day, week what you have observed.

Or if you really don't believe in something...were a sceptic of something, try doing what it is your skeptical about. Like if you didn't believe for example loa/manifesting, try doing something once a day, to test it out and report the results.

That's what I would do, at least
