Default breaking the box

Thinking through several rapidly evolving ideas on what to do next in my life, and the phrase "think outside the box" keeps cropping up. After reading Busting Loose From The Business Game and learning about breaking the box altogether, I've been wondering how to go about that.

I've always been unconventional in my work life, but that has not yet translated into working my passion to the point of actually making a living at it. I seem to toddle along at the brink of poverty more often than not, and it's getting old.

What does "breaking the box" mean to you? How would you go about it?

Hehe.

There is no box. There is no inside; there is no outside. What you bend 'inside' you bends the 'outside' of you.

I'm working two jobs currently, one of which pays a moderate amount each month and has been around for 5 years. I'd like to phase it out because it takes up too much space. It's nice, though.

The other job is my writing/editing work. I would like to do more of that and seem to pick up article ideas like lint every time I go outside. I want to do this full time and make a living at it. So far it has paid marginally at best, but I know I could do more with it, just need to apply myself.

Yes, I know I've answered my own question to some degree. Needed to type it out here, I guess. Or maybe more input is needed.
