Unhappy Confused and unmotivated

Hello everybody,

I am new to this forum ….

I am going through a tough time. I am currently not seeing any perspective and motivation for my future. I feel like stuck and a big failure. I can’t describe why I feel this way.
Every time I had some new challenges like HS, College, Semester abroad.. I always thought I wouldn’t make it anyway. But I did. Right now I am finishing college, I have passed all exams and now I am stuck with my dissertation. I just don’t have any motivation. I think and believe that I will be failing this one. I am scared of the time after college.. and that I won’t be able to find any job!

People around me are being very pushie and expecting a lot of me, and asking, when I will be done and will earn my own money.
My self-confidence has always been on a low, although people describe as very outgoing. I have little faith in myself and strengths, and I just hope that one day everything will much easier. I just can’t help it. Instead of being proud of my achievements, I am feeling like a big failure.
Like a black hole..
Thanks for any advice!

This in fact is the predicament most youngsters are hemmed in. This is more current in Asian economies. The reason is they want to outstrip their western counterparts. We know the alarming rate of Suicides in China, India, Japan and South Korea when their children fail to meet their overambitious parents' expectations. My advice is be strong and say to heck with all your pushy situations and press ahead, however with dynamism and industriousness

Yeah, I know that feeling. Actually still having that a bit now, but it gets better when you get of college in my opinion. Honestly, I recommend taking a month long trip or camp or something after you graduate. I did and it helped me recover from all that pressure, everything pushing me forward when I didn't want to go that way, but didn't really know where else to go either.

After I broke off for a while I realized some things I knew I wanted, pretty much just to be near my girlfriend and not be at home admittedly, but it was something I wanted and I went for it and moved out to NYC as to do something. I found something and am better off now then I was before and am just looking to be happy and work towards knowing what it is I really want to do, no pressure. This can be hard with debt looming above, but eh, it can actually be put off pretty easily, aka deferred.

So once you get out, just try to take a no stress look at life. Just do what seems like the most interesting at the time, even if it's just moving somewhere and working a normal job for a bit while enjoying free time besides. You can always go back to do whatever else you want to do later once you can be happy with it. Hope I made some sense and best of luck, it's a common problem, but it's a painful one.

angela24, Mind Over Matter, Really Does Matter. Create a positive mindset for your self everyday. Focus on the good and not the bad. One word to always remember. CONFIDENCE. We all have it, sometimes we forget about it.

Is there a time limit for you to complete your dissertation by? Because if you can write it up a year or two from now, why not take your time with it and enjoy a stress-free lifestyle for a bit?
