Default "It's time to live each day to the fullest."

I was out on the road and I saw a sign that said

"It's time to live each day to the fullest.

San Diego Hospice"

Hospice is for when you don't have many days left, right?

I thought, well why would you wait till then to start living each day to the fullest? This led to thinking about what 'fullest' means for me. Most days are work days. Some are weekend. So it might mean different things on different days. It's up to me to figure those things out.

What would it mean for you to live each day to the fullest? I mean in practical terms? It might be easier to answer with feelings or attitudes. OK, then how would those translate into what you would do, or the way you would do things?

Just curious what you all think about 'fullest' for yourselves.

Heh, a truly fullest day wouldn't depend on iit being a work day or not a work day. A fullest day would be a day where I did everything that I was motivated to do and was important to me, in the order of their importance to me with each getting the time I feel they should within a day. I haven't had one of these days yet except days where traveling was my main goal, but I can keep trying.

My life to the fullest = Consciously Exploring + Creating + Collaborating

My intention is to make myself portable so that I can do all of the above, all around the world. I mean it literally, this ain't no pipe dream.

If I get through most of the day in a good mood, and go to bed feeling that I accomplished something.

Right it shouldn't depend on whether we had work or not.

What I am asking about is more the practical. Exploring, creating, nice but vague. How do you really implement in action, living your day to the fullest? That's why the type of day might matter.

Today, Sunday, even though I didn't have much energy, I made myself get up and go for a walk on the beach, because it was too nice of a day outside not to.

Living your day to the fullest, more then likely would involve NOT having a work day. All this " umm, well, it only counts on non work days right?" is silly, and it means you need to take a look at your life, if you are spending 70% of your life not just not living fully, but saying to yourself that you can't live fully.

Who said it only counts on non-work day? What do you do to live your life to the fullest on a day that is a work day? What do you in your job/business? What do you do before/after work? Not how you feel about it, but what do you do?

Every day is a work day AND play day for me. That's why I do what I do, even though it hasn't been consistently financially stable for me.

Having dealt with hospice twice in the past two years with my parents and seeing how they both lived and died, I can say that "living your life to the fullest every day" is good advice.

Exploring- I'm always studying something. Either online or reading a book a little here and there throughout the day. In the near future, it'll be figuring out ways to make money on my own.

Creating- I like making art some days. I just started painting again so I've got that to dive into. This also includes finding out new ways to do things, usually this has something to do with communication for me. (Including communicating with myself.) Lately, the NLP stuff is fascinating me so I'm enjoying that very much.

Collaboration- I'm practicing being more open with people, taking more 'risks' being less private about myself. Introducing myself more often and going to different outings that I've never tried before. Recently there was an art show I went to, that was really fun.

Sorry, you did mention the practical side in your OP. (Still working on my communication..) These are the practical ways I'm implementing my ideas now. I'm just starting out.

Great post Gloria (or is it Angelique?)

Reading, painting, going to art shows, that's the kind of stuff I was hoping for!

Good on you!

A very interesting thread which makes me wonder. What is living life to the fullest for me? To the fullest means listening to that inner voice (that be kicking truth) and acting accordingly. Whatever action it may be. Sometimes it's doing the dishes, sometimes taking a nap. Priority is important too. At times doing dishes is more important than taking a nap. Listening carefully to your body and mind is also important so when you really need a nap, re-prioritize, the dishes can wait. Living life to the fullest is a bit overrated in my opinion or maybe only now that I am thinking about it I have interpreted it in the wrong way. It easily implies, at least for me, that it is far-out stuff like travelling a lot, going to a club after a club or doing things all the time. On a personal level, I think media with it's crap entertainment has put a big stamp on what living life to the fullest means. It's false and thanks to you LostMyMap I can see cleaaarly now, the raaain has gooone

Let me add: leaving the comfort zone helps a great deal in living full. Going the extra mile. A biggie!

Tough question.

Well, i can say i am living my life at fullest. You need to understand this basic things: Freedom. Make yourself free from every attachments. Attachments can be like this worry for useless things, no extra tension even if it then don't be afraid of it. Always say yourself you are learning something by any second. BE happy and try to face everything comes in your life. Spend each moment with spirit. Do the things you love.

Try to add rich thoughts and follow them sincerely.

Default I would quit my job.

Okay maybe I wouldn't quit my job but I'd work part time if I did need a job, just for essential stuff. The thing that blurs and provides the most static in life is money. Money just gets in the way of a lot of what life has to offer. There's always earning money, spending money, shopping, and jumping into my vault full of gold coins.

Take all the money out. Spend whatever money you have buying food and sleeping in hostels, just then will you find the time to do things. Things that you want to do.

By the way, I watched your star wars video in your link. I watched star wars so far back when I was little that I don't remember practically any of it. I don't remember the part where he said, "Think not" and all that stuff about thinking and relearning what you don't know. Good stuff.

Yeah, curiouslyrandom gets it. If you could find a job that fits what you like and want to do despite how much you make, then you'll live an awesome life.

The days I go after my goals fearlessly, and feel nothing but LOVE for life and while being truly present and peaceful no matter what the outer situtation is like.

I guess for me, at this point, it's living each day with intention. I have spent so long reacting to the things around me that to live each day to the fullest, to me, is to create instead of react. To be balanced each day, to be present in my relationships and interactions.

How does that come out practically? I am mindful when i am with my children, knowing that, at this point in their journey, I am the sun and they orbit me, what I put out feeds them and nourishes them and I chose to not nourish them with toxic reactions and emotions. I allow my partner to be who he is, I am aware that his experiences allow him to perceive things differently than I may.

Removing outside programming and ramifications, living from my heart without manipulations. To me that is living life to the fullest.
