Default how do you dig up your self limiting beliefs?

The life we lead now is a reflection of our beliefs. How do we dig up our beliefs?

For example, I am unhappy with my financial situation. I know I have limiting beliefs in this area, but I am honestly not sure what it is?

I know I was lazy before - but I'm not anymore - I'm working my ass off these days, almost no free time at all. But that's about all I can think of. I know I still have a limited competitive mindset (not enough to go around so we have to struggle to get the $$). I'm trying to change my mindset to creative and abundant, but how?

Ok, so this thread has splt up into two topics:
A) How do I find out what is limiting me?
B) What is the most effective way of moving into an abundance mindset / clearing out self limiting beliefs?

I struggled with this, too. Look for those automatic thoughts, automatic comments, the things you say to yourself that you're hardly ever aware of. Work at increasing your awareness and consciously noticing what you say or think at all times. If you're like me, you'll be amazed at the number of limiting beliefs you perpetuate all day everyday.

In the financial realm, I became aware of constantly operating in an "I can't afford that" mindset. It didn't really seem to matter how much money I had in the bank at any one time, a lifetime of perceived lack and occasional financial struggles had imprinted on me and I always felt as if there wasn't enough. (Of course this is exacerbated by money being pretty low on my priority list! )

I'm still working on this myself but money has been coming in pretty easily the past couple of months so maybe (at least in the financial realm) it's working. Again, I think increasing your consciousness is a big step. When you're aware of the self-limiting thought, you can take the steps of releasing that thought and engaging a thought of abundance in its place. I also frequently take time to notice and express gratitude for all that I do have which seems to open me up for receiving even more.

So flying man, you want to zap the limiting beliefs and fly into abundance. I agree with Lola, that you need to watch those automatic thoughts. They don't have to be automatic. The process of stopping them is difficult but I believe can be done. I am working on this too. It is also just a way of thinking. With myself, instead of saying, "I can't afford that" etc. I just say to myself, "I'm choosing what to buy and well-managing what I have."

I think creating abundance has a lot to do with well-managing with what you have. If you start with that, you can gain some sort of control and somewhat peacefulness about where you are. Then from that stage, you have more of the confidence you need to attract the abundance.

As for creating abundance itself, I think what Steve says is so true... you need to create value. Think about the ways you can create value.

Good luck with this. Can you imagine where we'd all be if we all adopted an abundance mindset?? Wow. Good luck!

Cheers!

If you believe in IM then start practicing creative observation. Hell, even if you don't, IM comes with brilliant ideas of reducing limiting beliefs. Instead of saying, "I can't afford that", try "I'm choosing not to buy that because it doesn't fit my goals". I've found that I can afford many things, but I'd just be broke after and regret the purchase. Its not much the money, its my emotions afterwards. Consider looking into NLP to get help in interrupting those patterns.

The thing about limiting beliefs is that we often don't recognize them because we're so used to them, so you have to contrast them in some way with someone who is already achieving success in your area. And there are plenty of things out there about that. Brian Tracy has a program called 21 Secrets of the Self-Made Millionaires. The Millionaire Next Door is a wonderful book written by two gentlemen who have been studying millionaires for years and holds some very surprising information about millionaires. I believe there's a book called The Millionaire Mind. Immerse yourself in these materials and soon you'll find yourself acting like they say.

Sometimes you don't have to find limiting beliefs, rather increase your empowering ones, or use empowering ones to replace limiting beliefs. I would say that your focus on reducing limiting beliefs rather than focusing on replacing them with empowering ones, or adding empowering ones is also a part of your lack-mindset.

Pavlina has written about this stuff before:

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...ut-resistance/

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...e-observation/

Hope something here helps.

I first got one or two of his programs when Pavlina recommended him. I enjoyed 21 Secrets and it is filled with good information. More than just the information (a lot of it I knew), it was that it was in one place and htat it helped reinforce what I want to make into habits. His book, Goals! was also recently recommended to me, so I got a copy, haven't read it yet.

Tracy is pretty good, though, yes.

I use the BSFF procedure to dig my limiting beliefs (last 2 months) and i'm amazed

Every belief has a power until it has emotional roots in subconsciousness. Be aware of this hidden emothions - and limiting beliefs have no power.
