| ...is the title of a book by Dick Richards whose website can be found here: http://ongenius.com/blog/ I think it is a very good tool to lead you to your overarching purpose in life. What Mr. Richards calls your "genius" can indicate what you should apply yourself for and give you more focus in life. Self-reflection is in order for that. The book is slim and if you are very motivated, you could do all exercises in one weekend, or even perhaps in one day. However, you might need many months to integrate the material. The obstacle I find myself with right now, after having finished the book, is that although I did find the name for my genius, I don't know exactly how it should be applied specifically, practically. For example, I don't have a clear picture of the best field I shoud apply myself in order to really, really use my particular genius. I have different ideas but not a definitive winning idea. I will share with you the name of my genius: it is "uncovering meaning". What does it make you think of, practically speaking? I hope we can discuss this book and help each other find answers to our questions regarding our genius. |

| Hi, Judy. I used this book when it was recommended in an article on Steve Pavlina's blog. Very fun! My genius is "Freeing Flow." Since I distinguished that, I've noticed that I'm happiest in all situations when I'm freeing flow. And it led me to determining my Purpose by which I want to guide my life: To boldly generate and facilitate free-flowing love and joy. I love that book! By the way, you are being your genius in this thread! Uncovering Meaning, indeed! |
