I have a link to my new blog in my signature. In addition to shameless self-promotion, I would also like some criticism. Layout, content, whatever you like or don't like, I would like to be made aware.

Narrow the main column and maybe use a different font. That green and red in contrast to the blue looks awful. Here: Color Scheme Designer 3 And maybe use something else for the header. I don't know what yet, though. Maybe a script font of some sort, as a .PNG I don't actually remember how to do that in Blogspot, but I'm sure there's an option somewhere. Your ideas are worth a layout people will take seriously. If you need a designer, I'm here. /<3 |

| I made the main column wide intentionally. I hate scrolling while I'm reading, and I don't intend for my posts to be short on material. Also, what's wrong with Arial? Should I use Comic Sans MS instead? As for everything else, you're right. I used different colors because I wanted to have some contrast so people could tell things apart, but I'm sure you could do that without making things look horrible. I put utility before beauty, but I don't intend to ignore beauty. As for other changes, the only reason I would bother is if I actually get some people reading the blog. There's not much point in learning a bunch of fancy HTML if I'm just doing it for myself. If I ever get to the point where I have a following, I might take you up on the design help |

Comic Sans??? -shudders- I'm glad you were joking. If you're reading it for yourself, I guess it doesn't matter what it looks like, so long as you like it. I think I'll start copy-pasting your posts into a text file so I can read them. :P The HTML isn't quite that fancy, lol. Wanna see a nightmare of a coding job? When it takes half an hour to figure out how to change the width of the main text, ANY HTML is complicated. I literally know nothing beyond numbers=variables.

It is wonderful to be charmed by the truth. Your blog tells me you have an open mind, but your attitude needs a tad of tweaking if you are to hear from your unlimited side. Your opportunity to win self-newness is in your inquiry. You must sincerely seek; there is a bit of railing out in your blog. Firmess with yourself will give you the insight you are looking for, so continue to seek with the idea that you are doing something healty. Sharing is a powerfl method to advance. Good job. Good blog. Keep on going. blessings, rob mindadventure.com |

For the blog, I suggest, well... not Ariel. Helvetica is in the same boat. I don't quite understand why, I just know it looks a little clumsy. Since you probably don't want to get into a typography lesson, I think it would just be easier if I experimented around a bit. Like I said, though, you don't need to change the layout if it's just for you. /<3

I'm impressed by your blog both because of you perspective and because of the similarity of experience we share. My main concern with the blog is that I don't know how people who haven't had the enlightened experience you've had will feel when reading this blog. The experiences that have led you to your current location are more important than what you're going to do to grow from it, in my opinion. I feel like a majority of people do not share your views and that describing how you got there might help you gain more readers. I too have a similar perspective as I mentioned earlier. I see people every day pursing ideals they have no real interest in. I watch them die slowly as their real passions are put on hold for these ideals someone else who was consumed by fear created. I myself am doing my best to break free from hold that fear has on my life. As the grasp slips and I see more of what life has to offer, I often wonder why more people don’t share this perspective. The idea of living for yourself and creating a world you enjoy just seems so basic to me now. Yet I lived for almost 22 years without feeling this way. That’s the majority of my life by the way - as I've only spent the last 3 months of almost 22 years on Earth reclaiming my life. I personally like the fonts, color schemes, and layout of your blog. |

2. I like the blog title/idea. 3. SchoolOfPower has a similar idea behind it. You're free to copy what I'm doing yourself. In fact, I am going to make money selling what I do.

I personally find the layout, font, and colors just fine for its general purpose. No real need to turn it into a graphic fashion show or an e-commerce GUI per sey. If it were my blog though, just out of my own personal preference, I would make the main content column thinner just because my eyes read lines of text a lot faster and smoother when they don't have to scan all the way across the screen. I don't mind scrolling at all for that visual comfort. Quote:

If it's about the readers, I really recommend you get your own domain name. It's cheap, so when you're all settled in and whatnot, shell out $20 for name. Wordpress is free, but if you ever want to self-publish a book, you'll want a much more customized layout. I think I can get you a copy of Thesis for $30 when that time comes. Not sure yet. Obviously, all this can wait. The stuff I've learned about blogging only applies after you get about 20 posts in. Then the readers matter. /<3 |
